No human spoke. Background noise sounds like a calling center / sweatroom. Google search for this number found: Apogee, (301) 595-3840, 10811 Tucker St, Beltsville, MD 20705. I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST but this doesnt seem to matter to them.

A man from this charity just called and asked for donations. I let him know we didn't at this time and if we could have our name removed from their calling list because they call us about 3 or 4 times a week. There was silence on the other end of the line, I asked "Hello?" and he stammered out some response about how it's strange that we've been called so frequently because there are only trucks in the area about every 4 or 6 weeks. I told him that's not the case and that we indeed receive calls from this organization on a weekly basis. He told me that he would note what I was saying and tell his manager (yeah, right). I understand they are collecting for charity, but how many times can someone tell you "We don't have anything to donate right now?"

Constantly calling!! Can't always donate to charities. And, tired of the constant calls. We are on the DNC list. But, charities do not follow the rules.

This people keep on calling. I told them to take our name off. Today I show truck driving around and taking pictures of houses, It had ncc and 301-595-3840 .

Calls repeatedly, every month, sometimes several times a week. Identified as "NCC Pick Up" on the phone. Leaves no message.

Calling all the time and never leaves a message. If you can't leave a message on what you are calling for, then we don't need to call you back. So stop calling.

Correct on all of the above...these scam artists call constantly and ignore requests to remove me from their list. Now I take the call and schedule a pickup. When they arrive I tell them I don't have anything. If more people do this they will stop. Fight back.

This is the number  to call to be removed from their list.  This is the National Childrens Center and not  just dome telemarketer in violation of the  law.  YOu still can be removed  from the list if yhou desire.

I've received several calls lately from the 301-595-3840 number and they claim to be 'value village charitable organization.'  It's interesting to read that they also use an (801)California number I've left items for them before, they picked it up.  Pat's comments and the CA. give me cause to wonder if I was misled.  If anyone could shed more light it would be helpful.

they called and i said*****o?. and they breathed for like 10 sec. and i said*****o a***n. n they were like is your mom home??.. i mean if it was official they would ask for a name.. not mom. and then i said no and they s****ed breathing a***n. so i just ***g up.

They called and left a message of just 30 seconds of breathing.  They never said a word.  This helps me know who it was.  Thanks.

the number is a person calling for the National Childrens Fund or so****ing like that - doing a clothes pick up in neighborhoods - they don't leave a message when we don't answer and when we do answer - they may be on another line talking to someone else.

must be a cell phone.  no caller id name.  i think it has been verified as a scammer posing as a charity.  MY CREDIT CARD SERVICES REP. SAYS THE PHONE SCAMMER TRAFFIC IS EXTREMELY HI AT THIS TIME!!!  CALLEE BEWARE!!!

Total slime outfit, claims to be a charity, when actually they sell the stuff they collect out the back door. If you donate kitchen utensils they will be sold for s**** metal.

Valid phone number for National Children's Center. They do donation pickups in neighborhoods. I've donated through them on several occasions, very friendly and helpful during the donation pickup. Never had a problem with them...yet...

This is not a charity organization. To further muddy the waters, shills often comment to allay su****ions, as if they themselves were call recipients.

Calls continue multiple times a day, despite requests to be added to their "do not call" list.

I received 2 calls from them today! They call almost everyday. Usually, I don't answer. I have repeatedly told them to remove me from their list but it doesn't stop them. Tonight, the girl that called said "I can give you a number to call to be removed ..."  I interupted her at that point, No, I'm not calling your number .. you have my number removed.

These people are ripe for a lawsuit.  When you ask to be taken off their calling list, they tell you need to call a certain number (long distance for me) to be removed.  That's not what the law says, right?  So if you tell them not to call you back, they will anyway (what happened to me), so then you can sue the ****ers.  Please keep notes of your calls, their names, and your request to be removed, and sue them when they call back anyway!
