Legitimate inquiry from Chase about a credit card application.

Had a message left on my answering ma****e telling me to call them back. The message said he was from "lending operations."  I did not call back, I googled him.  Needless to say, I saw that others were just as su****ious. He left a 1-888-298-5623 number for me to return the call. He did not state his name or what he wished to discuss with me.I've had several things like this lately. I hate scammers.

Received a call from 302-758-1000 on my cell phone.  a man asked for my name then he ***g up.My caller ID identified calling from Newark, DE

got a call from a very professional sounding woman asking for sensitive financial information so that my bank could update my credit profile. I asked what bank and she could not answer that. I let her know that was information that people just don't give up over the phone to non verified callers. I called my bank and they had no notes about needing information to update our credit cards.

I received a phone call requesting an update to my credit card information.  I have never received a call like that from my company and when I told the guy I was wary about scams and ask him to explain a bit more he had nothing to say and just responded, Ok, thank you for your time.  Sounded quite normal and professional and I could see how some folks might provide their information to him.
