They call my cell a couple times per day. I have a terminal illness and sleep a lot. These calls wake me up all the time (I use my phone for my alarm clock so it's nearby all the time). I'm on the DNC list, but that never stops telemarketers. They rely on the DNC list to show them which numbers are valid. You will get more calls by being on the DNC list than if you didn't ever register your number(s). The DNC list only keeps honest companies honest. Dishonest companies use the list to their advantage. This number says "Colorado". They never leave any message. I block these types of numbers but they just use a different number and keep on calling. Often the telemarketers will use a number with my local area code, hoping I'll answer, thinking it is a local business. I don't. I just look up any number that I do not recognize (even if it appears local)and can then tell if it is a scam/telemarketer. Any legitimate business or 'friend' will usually display their name as well as their number.
