Leave a Commentgot the same message, long, you are a finalist.... so****ing you entered 18 months ago... blah blah blah.... I called the toll free number and said please take me off you list, the guy was polite about it for the most part, did try to reel me in... " you DIDN'T enter to win in Connecticut?".... don't think so... I did say "are you a travel company" and he said "yes we are" and I said thanks, and he said he'd remove my number...
"David" called me today so he's been at it for months Caller ID said 312 428 5187 but asked that I call him on another number I could not trace. The call was from Chicago but I got that info myself. He claimed he was calling from the "National Prize Claim Center" - there were no hits for this on the Internet. According to David I entered some contest 12-18 months ago and am a guaranteed winner of one of 4 top prizes: a 2010 SUV, $45,000, or two unnamed prizes. The thing is I would NEVER enter a drawing for an SUV because I think they are contributing to global warming and increasing our dependence on oil.. Therefore I know this is a scam. Trouble is if David calls my elderly mother or yours, she might fall for this. If you read the ***le "I did win a prize", you will likely be reading text written by David, himself. Time-share condo deal for sure.
I received a call from this same guy David, nice guy by the way. He explained to me that, I was a finalist in the Lincoln Navigator giveaway for their company in Daytona Beach, FL, and that I was guaranteed 1 of 4 prizes. Well, turns out, that this was a real promotion to win the vehicle. I didn't win the vehicle, but my husband and I, attended this promotion and I was very impressed. we did received a prize and also signed up to become members, to take advantage of this awesome travel company's discounts. Thanks to David
That same David called me this afternoon and I told him I wasn't interested in his scam and he s****ed to yell at me "This is not a scam". I told him that I had his and Angie's # on my caller id and told him he better not call a***n. I was really mad when he s**** to yell at me....the # is the same as he used and it;s from Chicago, Il.He was a follow up on that Angie Lopez call from yes****ay stating she was calling from the Dayton Beach Welcome Center......I live right by there...
Got a message from David at Awards Claim Center. It was directed at my Mother (he used her name) who passed away over 2 years ago and never had my phone number. The message said so****ing to the effect of "Good news regarding your entry submitted to win a 2010 SUV or the $45,000 cash option. Great news! You are one of the winners and are guaranteed one of the top 4 prizes, if not the vehicle itself. This is not a sales call. You are under no obligation to purchase anything. Just call 877-572-6940 to claim your prize. Ask for David. I will be in the office until 9pm Central Time." The make and model of the SUV was not mentioned. This sounds like a straight-up sweepstakes notification, but I was su****ious. So, I checked the Internet. I found a lot of other similar "scams" written about here and elsewhere, but none with either of these numbers.
