Leave a CommentCalled me from this number. Left message to call number 800.842.0588 X34361. Said her name was Mrs. Wilson, no first name given. Someone told me Social Security doesn't call you.
INDIANA - Just applied for SS, Medicare. Today 4-1-21 rcvd call from 312-575-6999, phone identified as SS. I picked up, said*****O 3 times, no response. Tried 4 times to call back - busy. I have several numbers for SS, this does not match any of them.
Caller identified that I collected SS payments through my ex SS and asked if I wanted to switch back to mine. I said no and the caller ***g up.
Not spammer in my case
Said from social security
I did not answer the call but redialed. The message stated that Social Security was attempting to call me. Social Security does not call on the phone they write letters. Ignore this phone number!
Called and left me voice mail asking me to call about my recent application. They were not professional, asking me to call "the folks" at a different number. Reported to SS fraud.
She told me there was a problem with my application and she has sent me many emails and a letter which I have received none of either. I called the actual social security number and there was not problem.. And people social security does not call you then will send you a letter by mail. Please don't give them information.
I just applied for Medicare Part B and they confirmed s**** date. They asked no other info. It’s definitely legitimate.
I just filled to receive social security and they were calling about my s**** date. How they found out so soon must be investigated. I feel this is a scam. I reported it to the social security website.
Caller ***g up before I got to the phone. I called it back and received a recording that someone from the social security office was trying to reach me if that number showed up on my caller ID a***n.
Wanted personal information from me.
This is a legitimate number from social security administration. Still you should be cautious about giving personal Information over the phone to anyone.
Called to ask information regarding social security benefits
This person called and said his name was Victor and he was with Social Security all he needed was my social security number, date of birth, and my mothers maiden name. **** UP, this is not social security. He knew I had recently applied for benefits....don't know how he knew that....but this is a scam!
Called saying that I wasn’t getting as much $$$ as I should. When my husband got on the phone, they c****ed dates on him. We said just mail it. They called a***n the next day. I didn’t answer
They had my date of Medicare Application this month, somehow. But used this site to show the number and as usual, seems to be a scam. Not a good thing if they managed to get my date of application exactly 12 days after I filed for future benefits. When they asked for details over the phone I ***g up. Do the same, even if they have your date of Medicare application as was in my case
... Do Not Answer ! This is a Spam Caller ! ... SSA Doesn'T Call ! They use Mail ! ...

Scam. SS doesn’t call. They use mail
I have a message on my voice mail stating my calls are monitored and screened due to the ridiculous amount of telemarketing calls. Please leave a message or your number will be blocked. They left no message and I have blocked them.
Did not answer. I had actually contacted S.S. about some info I needed and they had a recording stating was a spam caller and it gave what would be seen on caller I D if from them and this is nowhere near it .
Identified themselves as social security person...said need my social or they would have to return my paper to me. I said to return it, he said he didn't have my address...hmmm total scam!
BTW, a voicemail is left with an 800 number, name, and extension. All can be verified
This number belongs to Social Security. If you apply for your benefits, they call to verify information. You don't respond, you don't get benefits
www.DoNotCall.Gov is the website. Register your telephone number. You must wait 30 days to follow up w/report
(312)575-6999 is****ociated with (312)506-***4. This is a scam of some sort. I recently found out that my iden***y was stolen (3 student loans taken out in my name, my social security number). I can only****ume that these s***bags have purchased my iden***y and are trying to scam me.
Calls continue from this number. I reported to Donotcall.org the FCC's website. I encourage all to do the same.
i keep getting calls from this number too and my number is not a regular phone number that is listed anywhere
Don't know her
Someone called me from this number and stated that they were the Social Security Administration. They wanted to discuss an overpayment, and mentioned my daughter's name. I told them to send me so****ing in the mail. She said, "You haven't received anything in the mail?" I said, "No." She said that she would send so****ing by mail. She ***g up. I talked to my daughter and said that if they were calling about her, why didn't they mention an overpayment for my son? They almost immediately called back and said, "we made a mistake. It is for [,my son's name]" I repeated that they should send so****ing by mail. She said okay and ***g up. Out of curiosity, I called the number back, I got a auto-message that it was the SS Office on Madison st. [no city name mentioned]. I ***g up and said out loud, "Madison Street in [my city name]!?! Not with a 312 area code!" Then I called the number back a***n and the voice ADDED... "Chicago, IL." I was totally outdone!! What?! Is my house bugged or so****ing??!!! How can a voicemail message c****e up in a couple of minutes!??? It was a totally different message!! I am SOOOoooo glad I told them to send me mail on the issue!
I highly doubt this is a Social Security phone number. When you try to trace it, it shows an an unlisted landline in Chicago. Others have reported getting various fraudulent calls from this number. Caller beware.
I got a call from this number on my cell phone and the woman said she was from Social Security and wanted me to call back right away. I checked with Social Security first and was told it was highly unlikely anybody from Social Security would call me that way. I decided to call the number back but not on my phone. I asked the woman to verify that she was from social security. She asked how she could do that. She said her caller ID should show GOV, well it didn't. The number she called from is an unregistered landline. I am highly su****ious that this is some sort of scam.
I left my info by accident at the 1-800-842-0588 ext 5959 to a Andre Williams. He said he was handling my on-line application.I'm so upset because I should never have called, period. Actually, I did research the number before I and it said it was Social Security, but I didn't read several comments down where it said it was a scam. What was I thinking!
This is a generic outgoing number from a Social Security office in Chicago that is calling to resolve some matter. You'll likely get a letter if you choose not to answer.
They have called me a few times and i have not answered it...
Caller claimed to be from Social Security Office. Wanted to help my mom with her application for Medicaid. He asked for my mom's SSN# and address. I told him that if he was from SSA he should already have that info. He said he would just mail the package to my mom for her to fill out instead and mail it back.
