If you listen closely to what the robo voice mail says, it is obvious it is a scam as the grammar is not correct. Any legitimate call from SS would use proper grammar.

Said they were with SS and there was a problem with my SS account

they call 3x and told me my SSI has been suspended ,its a "federal recorded line so i should be honest " it has to do with homeland security. I hung up at that point knowing I do not have an issue

Received a 7:11 a.m., at work -- RoboVoice saying that there is an important problem with my social security account and to call as soon as possible to resolve the problem.

They claim they are social security and want me to call them back.

Called and left message. They were Social Security and it was important I returned their call.

Texted me on an item on Craigslist and offered a check in the mail for more than the asking price

posted furniture on Craigs list Omaha. Caller from New York, offered cashier check plus extra to hold item.

Sounds like a scammer to me. They want to send me a check for more then the asking price of a puppy and get me to wire money back.
