Called saying they were from Bank of America fraud dept. attempted to get into my account, transfer money to a Evernette Michaud at 786-765-9307 in Miami. This is a SCAM!

The caller claimed a new Bank of America account was opened online and I needed to verify if Zelle transactions were made in Miami and instructed to call a phone number. This happened to me twice from different numbers, Hispanic male both times, same story but from different numbers. The number I was told to call was the same. I called the bank and they said this was not from Bank of America.

They said I came in second in a mega million lottery and money was in. Bank of America account and gave me this number to confirm. I did not call. They wanted me to go to Walmart or CVS or Dollar General and get a $500 Money Pack Green Dot card. Once I gave them the number they would deliver my $17 million. In cash…. Yeah right They want me to call them back when I have the card.

They said that a banking account and credit cards had been opened in my name using my SS and they were following up to see if it was fraudulent or not. I said Yes that's not me, then they gave me my conf numbers and a Zelle phone number to contact. Very odd. I did NOT call that phone number, I called my bank's 1800 number instead.

Trying to advise my phone number was connected to a new checking account and I would be liable.

Indian man said someone opened an account in my name with my SS# and made 2 Zelle transactions of $1,000 each. When I asked what name, number and social was used, he told me to call Zelle to cancel the transactions. I hung up on him and he called back repeatedly until I blocked the number. Very scary scam, sounds very realistic. I hate scammers!!

Claimed to be Bank of America, and that someone opened up an account under my name and tried to send two Zelle transactions. Said they would close this account, but I have to call a "Zelle" phone number that they gave me to cancel the transactions with the "confirmation number" they gave me. (BOA00349000). Fairly sophisticated scam - phone number is 1 digit off the actual BofA #.

It was in Spanish supposedly from BoA saying someone opened an account yesterday in my name and asked if it was me, which I said no. That account made 2 Zelle transactions and I had to call Zelle support to cancel them anyways. They gave me the numbers of the transactions I had to give to Zelle support and Zelle support's number. When I said I had to verify that phone number, they hung up.

Russian sounding woman says she is from Bank of America then p***ed to a Zelle Fraud Dept. with a guy named Alex. They hung up on my twice but called back. Told me I had to get online with my Zelle and then enter some verification codes only he could give me by phone. Total fraud as I don't have Bank of America and haven't used Zelle in years. Again, not sure how they got my cell phone number but they are persistent.

I had someone use as if it was their own banking account information. Wanted me to call and verify with this number and supposed last four numbers of his SS#. To tell me some ridiculous sums of money in an account.

This may be an actual CC company phone number but they stole it because CREDIT CARD COMPANIES NEVER CALL! Nothing but Indian scammers calling. And when I told him to stop calling my house, he called me a f**king c**t. Seriously. Credit card companies don’t call and ask for information. They’re getting into legitimate cc company numbers and scamming people. Don’t tell them anything.

I recommend to just call the number banks of America provides in the back of every debit/credit card they give you and call them. I called my bank and they told me that everything was fine and to ignore the call it might be fraud.

But it is Truly a B of A Number, Although I would, to be sure, Just hang up and Dial back the number on the back of your Debit or Credit Card, incase someone is using a Call Number ID scam, (changing the display number of a said phone so it displays lets say 315-724-4022, to give the none the wiser person being called the false sense of security there being called by B of A. which is easy enough to do with VoIP lines. and is being done more than you would think. It is BofA. They left a message indicating that my debit card was compromised and a new card would be issued to me via mail. I had already received in the mail a letter indicating the same thing.

This is a real BofA number. They might be calling for different purposes like to see if your numbers are current or for unauthorized purchases. That is what I was called for and sure enough i did have one. Sometimes they will call of they have reason to believe it's an unauthorized charge and sometimes it's not. That has also happened to me. Either way it is a legit number

This telephone number called me shortly after I had inadvertently locked out my ATM/Debit Card.  This is Bank of America's automated calling system to notify you that your accounts have been frozen and to call customer service.  I called the telephone number I had previously stored in my phone to return the call and re-establish use of my account.  This phone number is not a fraud or scam but a notification of some type of fraud detected with your bank account.  Take it seriously and call the number listed on the back of you card or contact your local branch office.

Folks,this is a legit BOFA no. but someone hacks this line and calls you up early in the morning. Everything is planned and seems real..right from the voice message to the professional talk of the caller. I got a call this morning and the lady seemed so genuine. Luckily for me, i got saved coz I called back BOFA to confirm if they had  called me and whether there was any fraudulent activity on my card. Sadly, I gave them my debit card no. i have got it locked by the real BOFA now and will soon get a new one.Please dont be fooled! Stay alert!

I received a legit call from BofA Fraud department from this number.  They read me a list of recent transactions that only they would have.  They flagged a fraudulent charge on my CC and we were able to clear up the issue online.

#1 it was the wrong name that they were looking for. #2 I hate B of A #3 You call it back and its a International operator.

I got a call from this number saying there was suspicious activity with my account and I got paranoid so I called BOA and had them check it out and they said it wasn't part of their numbers and I thought it was a fraud but it turns out that the number that called me, was actually the same number that they post on the back of the BOA debit/credit card. I've also asked my friends if they have the number on the back of their cards too and they said yes. So this number 315-724-7022 is legit.

They stated my full name asking by phone number if the phone number mentioned belonged to me. It wanted me to press a key on my phone pad if yes. I think #4. I did it and I'll probably live to be disappointed in myself for selecting #4.

I had a voice mail from this number, saying it was BoA calling about suspicious activity on my debit card. They stated "this message is for (person's name)" and gave an issue # to reference when calling back. I don't have a debit card with BoA.  I do have a credit with them but I checked my account and that is fine. And as to you people who are making fun of the people who are concerned this may be a scam, shame on you.  I pray that one day you will have the good fortune to find yourself facing a fearful situation, and someone will make fun of you, so that you will know what it feels like. It's a legit number. Nobody is scamming you, nobody is trying to get your SSN here, it's just that they put a stop on your card because somebody might have stole it. I was filling my tank and I offered to pay for my wifes car when she pulled up next to me (what a sweet husband I am). I guess two seperate gas charges back to back will trigger it (rightfully so) and I didn't even think of that. That is what somebody who would find an atm card would do if they were the theiving kind I would imagine. It made sense to me. I called them back at that number and they reactivated my card in minutes. Oh my god, it's a scam! They are going to take your job, your kids, your life! Run! Run! For the love of god, run! Dont look back! The scamers are out to get you! Run! lol....

I had told the bank I would be in South America. 9-23 I received a call from this number googled it & found this site. With mixed reviews I called my voice mail & their was an alert message, an I'D code & both this & a different BoA number to call. The 2nd number I recognized. Turns out no issues occurred in Brazil but a US merchant about a month back had a security breach. Thousands of cards have a hold on them and the bank is issuing new numbers to those whose information was stolen. The rep lifted the hold for an hr.  after verifying my identity so I could get an ATM withdrawal & arranged for a replacement card. A very positive customer service experience especially while I am this far from home.

I really am a BofA customer and I started receiving calls from this number yesterday. As always I look up the numbers I don't know even when a message is left. After reading this site I called the number on the back of my card. Yes, there was a hold on my card due to multiple purchases from the same place on the same day. So for me this was a legitimate call.315-724-4022 is a valid BofA number and can be found in very small text on the back of your card. But, if you ever get a call from your bank just hang up and call the Customer Service number on the back of your card and talk to them to find out the truth. It is way too easy for unscrupulous people to fake Caller ID. Always use reliable sources to verify the calls and don't use the number supplied in the voice mail.

I recieved a call from this number after attempting to make a large purchase online with my debit card.  It claimed to be BoA's fraud prevention department.  I didn't give them any of the information they asked for and spoke with a person on their line.  He gave me the number 877-833-5617 as a direct line to BoA's fraud department where he said he was working.  I looked the number up on this site and saw that it was no good.  I called BoA's credit card customer service because they are open 24/7 and the lady there told me that if there was a fraud alert on my card, at most they would call me and have me call them back.  She said it wasn't them.

I received a call from this number after trying to get gas with my atm card. It's an automated system. It just asked me to confirm if the attempted transcation was originated from me. they also sent a follow up email.

I got a VM yesterday from BA Debit card protection dept. regarding suspecious activity on my card& wants me to call an 800 number before Aug. 12, 2009 & that my account was placed temporarily on hold.  I ran to the nearest BA branch and tried withdraw money from ATM machine using my card.  It was on on hold & was able to use it.  I spoke to customer service of the bank re VM I received.  She gave me a print out of my statement for 2 weeks' activity & nothing looked suspesious.  She consulted their IT person to make sure that nothing was wrong nor someone had been trying to access my account.  Thank God I don't do online banking nor online bill payment.  I got call from above no. 2x yesterday.

This is a legitimate number from Bank of America (BoA).  They called about my daughter’s debit card.  A hold was placed on it because of suspicious activity.  She usually only makes small purchases but had withdrawn several hundred dollars the previous day.  After talking to the BoA fraud alert unit it was confirmed that the calling number was valid.  In fact they drew my attention to the back side and very bottom of my debit card which states “From Outside the US call collect at 315.724.4022”.

Call came in on my PREPAID CELL PHONE w/automated message saying it was an Bank of America ATM machine or something like that. They called back and left a message on my voice mail. I don't use Bank of America for anything, not even their ATMs, so this has to be a scam...

She said that the only time the bank would call is if your account is overdue or if you have not paid but an actual person would be the one to call. If BOA does call they will either leave message for you to call them back or a person would be on the line.DO YOUR ONLINE BANKING SECURELY ON UBUNTU.

i recieved a missed call from this number 1-315-724-4022 and then when i call back no body answering but the answering machine says its a bank of america asking information it looks like real so i give my social security number but i realized after awhile maybe its a fruad because today is sunday the bank is closed but i already give my social security would you think they can still steal my identity?i hope not..

It's a dialing program that tries to get account or social security info.  Call BOA with the phone # on the back of your card, or one on their site.They spam comments at different sites like this attempting to provide a fake backing to their fraud.  Don't trust, phone the actual company yourself.

caller KC identified as bank of america fraud department. there was a charge on my acount from Ill after a while this number is calling me asking for more ID. when asked their full name they don't want to give. when threathened to be sued, hanged the phone.

there was a bill showed on my account from different state (Illinois) bank of america e mailed me and when I logged onto my account i saw this charges. Immidiately called Bof A and cancelled my account. After a while this number called me and telling me the same that there was a fraud/ or someone trying to charge on my account. he gave me another number 877 833 5617. when asked about his full name he can only say K C. I threatened to sue him and he hanged up on me.

I got a call from this number about fraud on my Bank of America account.  I called the regular customer service number and this call was legit.  However, keep in mind that people can spoof caller ID.

I got an email from the real Bank of America, and this number called me. I did not answer, but it was BofA trying to lift the hold, so it looks legit to me.
