Leave a CommentCaller ID showed this number as: "Unknown number". I didn't answer.
This one didn't ring through to my phone as my account doesn't accept calls from blocked caller ID's. It is illegal for a collection agency to do that but I suppose they do it so people will answer the phone wondering who it is. Anyhow, I wouldn't have known about the call if it hadn't come up on my TV's caller ID. *** just s****ed that service a few weeks ago....looks like they haven't got everything set up correctly yet.As to 'Bill's' comment, who probably works for KCI, if it is a debt you owe and you have the ability to pay it, ALWAYS pay the original creditor. NEVER pay a collection agency. They Contract to keep half, or more, of the money for collecting the debt. There is no law that requires you to pay the collection agency or any 'fee's' they have added. If the original creditor refuses the payment and says that you have to pay the collection agency, have them send a letter to you stating that they are refusing the payment and then send a COPY of that letter to the collection agency. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, they will not be able to contact you a***n about the debt nor will they be able to put it on you credit report. If they do, you can sue them.
