You can try reporting them to the FCC.  I did!  I'm 43 years old.  I don't have any bills, yet I receive these phishing calls continually on my new pay-as-you-go cell phone.  So far I have 11 different numbers from different "so called" debt collectors for businesses that I have NEVER done business with.  They are listed in my phone as "pest" and each one is being reported.  Chances are your phone company "sold" your phone number.  How's that for customer service?http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

I agree with Bob35. These people are phishing. They call me constantly and never leave a message. A web search shows that they have so****ing to do with student loans.  I never had any student loans and my kids don't go to college. These people need to be stopped.

My only debt is a small mortgage on my house. My lines of credit equal zero. I was last a student in 1964. If I am in default on a student loan, I am REEEEALY in arrears.These are obvious phishing calls an I want them stopped!

I'm having the same problem as the above posts.  They call several times a day.  I do have loans with Sallie Mae and like the others, they are not overdue.  I have tried to block the number but the calls are still coming through.  This is getting very annoying.

They call constantly and say they can't speak to me about my loans until they verify who I am.  They are fraudulent and just trying to get your social security number and mother's maiden name....the most common access to all of your accounts!!!!  When I mention the word fraud they **** up on me but still call repeatedly at all hours of the day and nigh**** is my cell phone they are calling and *60 does not work neither does telling them not to call.

recorded message asks to hold while being connected to another party.  never connected just a loop of the please continue to hold refrain.

Not a clue who they are. if they ARE Sallie Mae, then why does Sallie Mae (shown in CID) call separately????

The reason you can't get through on the 317 number when you return the call is because companies can't force you to call a number that may cost you money.  The # they leave on the message should be an 800-562-2525.  SAC is a company representing the Guarantor of student loans with Sallie Mae (NOT Fannie Mae or Freddic Mac as some people think), Citibank, Wells Fargo, etc etc.  The representatives at Student****istance do not need a payment to get you up to date, they have other tools provided by the government and your lender, providing you havn't exhausted everything, in which case they have contact #'s to get you up to date.  Do not avoid this call.  Student loans are federal debts, and can be garnished for repayment should they default.  The good news is if SAC is calling you, you aren't in collections yet.

some a**hole demanded to speak with a person i have never known, met, or even heard of.  i politely told them they had a wrong # and some **** s****ed cursing at me and i told him to add he to the dnc and he refused and then i hu... PUT A BLOCK ON THEM. they have called at the same time every night for months.  i finally got fed up!

They call and wont say nothing and when i call back they say thank you for calling.... then the lines go blank

just received a call from this number and it stated on my caller ID "outbound only", a recorded message came on the line and said hold for an important call, I held and a woman's said a very faint*****o, I said*****o back and she ***g up. I do not have any loan with Sallie Mae, I am a grandmother!

I also receive this number in my recent calls, never get a msg and often times they call while im at class (9:30am)and i have never taken out a loan with anyone. My boyfriend has loans with them but they seem to think it's appropriate to call all members of his family or social network just to get ahold of him which seems completely inappropriate to me. Either way, it's annoying...

Received call at 8:30pm. My husband has to be at work at 4:30am. The person on the other line wouldnt same anything.

I have received several calls from this number and have even been awakened in the morning to these calls. When I answer, there is never anyone there and is just very loud disturbance on the other end. EXTREMELY IRRITATING.

I feel this a way you cannot send them a letter to inform them not to contact you a***n. You must send them a letter stating that and they must remove your number from their call center and not contact you a***n. It is the law. My phone is registered to the Do Not Call Registery and have reported the phone 317-594-1043.  I have student loans but not with Sallie Mae!  And my student loans are not overdue!

317-594-1043 is Sallie Mae calling about overdue student loans - even if the loans aren't overdue.  Block the number but be warned they have many more.  Since they began outsourcing their customer service has gone to*****.  At one time they were helpful and polite.  Not so nice these days.

Every weekday morning for almost a year they've been calling.  The number shown does not accept return calls.  I'm about to block that number from calling due to the annoyance.  ***ody is on the phone when I pick it up, and they never leave a message.
