RCI called, but did not leave a message.
This is not a scam. I am a member of RCI and had applied for an exchange on my vacation resort. They were calling me to update my search.
Mine was RCI calling to offer me a discount if I paid for my membership for five or ten years in advance. I am an RCI member. I took them up on the 5-year plan and saved a few dollars. If you are not an RCI member, then they may have an incorrect phone number. If so, then just call them back. They can look your number up on their system and correct the error. If you are a member, RCI could be calling you about any number of reasons, as others have said above. It's not a scam.
6 calls in 2 days.
Not a scam it is RCI a timeshare company they call if you vacation with them.
This is NOT a scam it is a timeshare company. They were calling my cell phone too until I gave them another contact number.

RCI called to remind me that a banked timeshare week was going to expire in a couple of months-luckily I had the opportunity to exchange without losing my banked week and maintenance fee. Not a scam, but a nice service to save my banked investment.
RCI called me from this number about a job opening I applied for. If you are an RCI member, or recently contacted them about a job opportunity, this is certainly NOT a scam.
I have asked them months ago to not call me and now they are starting up again. What recourse do I have except to ignore it and look up the number on the computer?
Sorry about the typo's. Also it could be something about your vacation that you have booked. Resort information or something?Dont ignore it, just call the 800 # back, dont recall the 317 phone number and then complain to the guide that its costing you $$ because you called long distance. Anyone can help you on your account!Good Day!
These calls can be about numerous things related to your RCI account. To get them to stop calling you cel phone or the number they are calling, you must call them and remove that phone number from you contact info. You might be able to do it online also? Keep in mind if you totally remove all your phone numbers, the company will never call you, about searches, expiring weeks, expiring membership, specials...etc..Its not a scam, whoever wrote that, you pay them a membership to belong to them, so they are just trying to service you (which is what they are paid to do)
The 317 area code is Indiana. I don't answer long distance rings, they can speak to the answering machine and leave a message if they think it's important and I will call them back if "I" think it's important (not very often).
Irritating. How do get them to stop calling my personal cell phone on minutes I pay for?
Well, I was brave and called the number back (prefixed by 141 to withold my own number). It's RCI (http://www.rci.com/), a holiday company we use. They're probably calling to get us to renew our membership with them and see if they can tempt us into a winter break.RCI have occasionally called from the US and from Ireland in the past, it's just that this is not a number I've seen come up before. I had to devert the 'phone to a mobile in order to get the Caller Id. as BT don't pass it through to the landline and they don't have it on 1471 either.
Has anyone got any more detail on this? They're calling me several times a day from somewhere near Indianapolis, Indiana, USA but that's all I know so far.
this number is a scam ...it is a fraud
