Leave a Commentwell... i got they are call everyday too. but what i did is call them back with this number 319-274-1902. and tell them that the person they looking for is not here. ask them to remove your number from their list. then they won't call your number anymore.;
I am unaffected because I refuse to call back or answer even to ask them to put me on the do not call list. They wont do what I ask anyway so I waste their time. Eventually they may leave a message so I have evidence a***nst them. Until then, if it is not important enough to them to leave evidence in the form of a message, then I know it is a scam! I am unaffected.
I got call from 319-274-1902 once a day over 1 month. but no answer when pick up.
They call me and ask for a different person. When I tell them I am not that person then they want to know if this is that persons phone. When I tell them that if I am not that person and I dont know that person how could it be that persons phone, they get very rude and hostile with me. I end up ****ing up on them or telling them where to stick it.
CALL SEVERAL TIMES/DAY AND IN THE EVENING. CALLING SOMEONE WHO LIVED AT THIS ADDRESS A LONG TIME AGO. I JUST DON'T ANSWER PHONE WHEN THIS CBE & THIS NUMBER APPEAR IN CALLER ID. DO NOT KNOW WHO THEY ARE.
none, they just keep calling and transferring me. I finally called back and got "elizabeth" and told her what she could go do to herself.
I called 'em back. It's CBE Corp., a collection agency. They were actually looking for the ex-owner of my phone number. The agent was extremely professional, apologized for the erroneous calls (how could they know, anyway?) and promised not to call this number anymore. So far, they haven't. Perhaps I actually had the good fortune to speak to a professional collector, not a hack. I know the difference...I'm a professional collector, myself. I can't speak for CBE, but the company I work for would never allow subterfuge of any sort...they value their business and are very aware of FDCPA (Fair Debt Collections Practices Act) rules and regs. Violation is an offense resulting in termination...NO exceptions. And I value my job...not to mention being able to look myself in the face in the mirror every morning.Did you know that in 2005, the collections industry returned $39 BILLION to companies that extended consumers credit? This actually kept prices lower, and saved the average American household $351. Not tooting any horns here...just fact. And it's been a measure of our economy; consumers are almost forced to rely on credit (rather than ready cash), and with businesses and jobs tanking and prices going higher for whatever reason, the collections industry, for better or worse, is a thriving business. It's a shame there are individuals, both corporate and personal, that break the rules. It's a shame. But it's a fact, and I applaud anyone willing to take those individuals down legally, through litigation. I would urge anyone who has had an experience contrary to the FDCPA to report it to the authorities and begin litigation procedures. The laws (and usually the judges) are on the side of the consumer, and that's a VERY good thing for those of us who consider ourselves professional.
They call at least 4 times a day. S****ed last week. I saw the name CBE Group on my caller I.D. so I checked to see if they left a message. None. I called number back, they were very, very sneaky, not afraid to give out personal information. I feel like somebody stole my identy. They won't tell you who they are or why they are calling. Just demanding info.
What You Can Do:The FCC can issue warning citations and impose fines a***nst companies violating or suspected of violating the do-not-call rules, but does not award individual damages. If you receive a telephone solicitation that you think violates any of these rules, you can file a complaint with the FCC. You can file your complaint using our on-line complaint Form 1088 found at http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html; e-mailing [email protected]; calling 1-888-CALL-FCC (1-888-225-5322) voice or 1-888-TELL-FCC (1-888-835-5322) TTY; faxing 1-866-418-0232; or writing to: Federal Communications Commission Consumer & Governmental Affairs Bureau Consumer Inquiries & Complaints Division 445 12th Street, SW Washington, DC 20554.What to Include in Your ComplaintThe best way to provide all the information needed for the FCC to process your complaint is to complete fully the on-line complaint Form 1088. The Form 1088 first asks you to select the specific telemarketing activity that you are complaining about, then directs you to a section of the form that asks specific questions relevant to that activity. If you do not use the on-line complaint Form 1088, your complaint, at a minimum, should indicate: your name, address, e-mail address, and phone number where you can be reached; the phone number where you received the call, and whether this number is on the national Do-Not-Call list; the date and time of the call; whether the call advertised or sold any property, goods, or services; any information (including a caller ID number) to help identify the individual or company whose property, goods, or services were being advertised or sold, and whether any of this information was provided during the call; whether you or anyone else in your household gave the caller permission to call; whether you have an EBR with the caller (specifically, whether you or anyone else in your household made any purchases of property, goods, or services from the individual or company that called, or made any inquiry or filed an application with the individual or company prior to receiving the call); and whether you or anyone in your household previously asked the caller or individual or company whose property, goods, or services are being advertised or sold NOT to call, and when you made the request. Some states permit you to file law suits in state court a***nst persons or en***ies violating the do-not-call rules. You may be awarded $500 in damages or actual monetary loss, whichever is greater. The amount may be tripled if you are able to show that the caller violated the rules willfully and knowingly. Filing a complaint with the FCC does not prevent you from also bringing a suit in state court. States also can bring a civil law suit a***nst any person or en***y that engages in a pattern or practice of violating the TCPA or FCC rules. You can contact your state Attorney General’s office or consumer protection agency with particular complaints, or to encourage such suits.
