talked to john spencer he told me i been choosen out of 1700 people to recieve a 5000 grant from the federal government but i needed to send $234.00 via western union. I told him if it was a grant that i was qualified for why did i have to pay for it. ****s that people would do that.

WOW. i just did the same thing. but i never a chance to talk to John Spencer. this lady named "Jasmine Coleman" called and said due to the census bureau i had won a grant for $5000. i was like ok how to i get it? she tells me to call John Spencer at 323-617-5965 Grant Approval #: JA005 and he will instruct me further. she confirms my real freaking address and i tell her its the wrong address and i make one up. then i tell her to give me her address and she says its washington, DC and i said give me the full address and she gives me a warehouse addess in CA. 11099 S. LA CIENEGA BLVD, LOS ANGELES, CA, 90045 which is available for Lease. im talking to her on the phone while i pull this website up online. i told her i was going to come to D.C. which is about 25 minutes from my house to pick the money up, she tells me to call John Spencer. then i s**** cusing at her and play my music really loud and she tells me to go "F" myself and she ****s up. wow i really had fun today. lol

So i was shopping with my roommate and got a call from 000-000-0000 when i answered it was a women with a heavy asian accent-her name was Amy. I had so much trouble understanding her though i got the basis of the call and that was that she supposedly with the US Government, specifically the US Federal Ins***ution Department, and that i had been chosen to get tax free one-time only money of $7000.  I could get this money put directly into my bank account, a debit card, or cash.....Since when does the Federal Government mail cash. When i asked her how she got my information she got confused and didn't understand what i was asking. Which to me means that your lying to me if you just keep talking about what you've already told me and ignoring my questions. Also in today's age when you call somewhere or so****ing you get a first name and an ID number from the person who works so they can be verified. She told me to call a call back number as soon as a ***g up the phone and i told her i couldn't because i was at a store. That i would call back in half an hour......... So i ***g up and called my parents who were home and had them look up the name of the department...you goggle that get the Federal Bureau of Prisons. you goggle the address which she gave as 200 Independence Drive, Washington DC, there is a federal building there but they are not listed and you type in the phone number and you get this telling you everyone elses experience with these people.

Got this call in AZ. today1/20/2011. What freaked me out was I just applied for alot of different school grants other than the usual because now i'm disabled. The first guy (East Indian accent) sets you up then you get the info to call Mr.John Spencer (East Indian) who was actually singing off and on the whole time we were speaking. I told him I didn't have the money for the Western Union transfer, but I was sure my brother who works for the F.B.I. did and would lend it to me. I also told MR. Spencer that I would have my brother call him back to get all info, then ***g up. Lol, of course I don't have a brother working for the F.B.I., I don't even have a brother. What I do have is a sister that works for a judge in a ***nch of the Supreme Court. I will call her.

I just got a call from an unknown number with a man with a strong accent that was hard to understand he said i qualified for a $7000 grant he knew my address my age not my birthday though and of corse my phone number stated i could use this money how ever i would like i just needed to give him my checking account or credit card number when I asked if this is a government grant how come you are calling me from an unknown number he then gave me this number202-684-6551 to call and they would explain more in detail the grant i would be recieving he just needed my checking account number or credit card. I then said i will not give this info out if i qualify for some grant just mail it to me. he said to do that i would still have to give him some account info and promised i would have 7000 in my account in 2 hours as i kept talking he s****ed getting upset. as i was talking to him i was looking on this page reading others warnings

John Spencer just called me and informed me that there was in fact a $234.00 security fee to be paid no matter the way in which the grant is delivered. Visa, Mastercard, Direct Deposit or Western Union. This is obviously a scam, grant money goes to your school not directly to you as far as any grant that I have every recieved. He has called 4 times since and this is a joke. Thank you everyone for s****ing this discussion. I am glad that I knew what to expect.

Interesting reading all of this! I got a call from a man with an Indian accent too. He gave me the same **** about being a good citizen and that I pay my taxes so then I qualified for the $5000 grant. I have been trying to get grants for school but this seemed very fishy. I gave him the wrong zipcode and he took it. While I was on the phone with him I looked up his number 775-841-5525 This is landline number based out of Carson City NV. The number given for John Spencer at 323-617-5965. this number is an AT&T customer landline based out of Los Angeles. This is riddiculous.

Got a call same number John Spencer 5,000.00. He told me 2 pick it up at Western Union. So I went and called back And he wanted me to fill out senders info not RECIEVING of 234.00 to indian name. BULL. The Gov. does not give free money for no reason

Got the same call today.  Called the FTC, the west Indian guy won't stop calling though.

They called stating i had 5000 grant money and to call this number with a id number of JA003

Someone also called me from the number with an indian accent. Now the guy won't stop calling me back, i wish the gov really did give out 7000 dollar grants lol. But everyone , it is definately a scam!!

I just got call today. US Government willing to pay me 7000 dollars tax free and never pay it back. I told him I was interested. He said, " You aren't interested in free money?" I said, "NOPE" he asks, "Why Not?" And i told him it didn't sound real. So he giggles and says "OH" then ***g up. Wow *****! I hope No one falls for this. But Im sure someone will. Sadly

An Indian woman called thies morning claiming to be from the US grant Department, mentioned the fact that I am an outstanding citizen, have not filed bankruptcy and pays my taxes in a timely manner.  I told her it was too good to be true and she said all I needed to do was call 323-617-5965 and ask for Mr. John Spencer, but do it today!  She offered me $5,000.00.  The call came from an "UNKNOWN" source.

Mr. Spencer said I was to get 5000 dollars from the us government but had to spend a deposit of $250. I told him no ands he ***g up on me

"john spencer" called me to tell me i qualified for a free $5,000 government grant. all i had to do was go to a place that offers western union, to pick it up, oh and pay $239 just for sec deposit and i would get that back in 3 ,min after i picked the money up- ya right!!!!!!

I just got the same call (West Indian Accent) saying I qualified, for a $5000 grant, since I was an outstanding citizen, who has not filed bankrupt in the last six months and pay my taxes and other bills on time.  Oh yeah, and that I can use the funds to do whatever I want, as long as it's not illegal.  Sarah Rose gave me an approval grant number, to use when I call 323-617-5965.  They would continue to explain how the program work.  I thought it was kind of funny that she knew my name, street address, state, and zip code, but not my City...Zip Code - City...hmmm.  So I was game, for a little fun, called the number and it just rang, rang, rang, and rang.  I ***g up, but in four seconds that number called backed.  By that time, I had already googled it...Surprise.  I now have joined your happy family, of googlers.  Also, I didn't get a person's name to ask for when I was suppose to call.  I'm a little jealous.  Whose next..................................

I just got this call too.  A guy with an Indian accent told me that I was available for a $7,000 loan.  I strung him along for a little bit as well, then I asked him to never call a***n.  After that, he called me back 5 times in a row... creepy.  Anyway - heads up?

I told him that I was broke and could I take my $7000 dollars and sent the $199.90 out of that. I told him that Im a nice guy, everyone likes me and I have lots of I.D. Of course he said "no". I told them if they send me the $7000, that I would send them back $1000 and they could use it for charity in Haiti. I told him that Mr. Jack told me that it was okay. I kept him on the line for a long time just stringing him along. Its all a scam to bilk someone out of $199 dollars. How anyone could fall for this is beyond me.
