Leave a CommentYet another number on this ****** alleged car warranty scam.
called today at 12:05 pstno message
I forgot to mention that my husband has also gotten calls on his cell phone about the warranty being soon to expire and to act fast. We have different companys so we were wndering why this same phone number is calling both of us.
I think that these people are calling from Canton Ohio. There is a university there. I was wondering if anyone else thinks that maybe college kids are trying to get money? Or there may be a telemarketing co set up temp in Canton? I dont know but they have called me alot. I am sick of i***his is the number - 330-452-6280. They said so****ing about my warranty being expired soon.
Got a call from this number. Car warranty, automated. I get these calls all the time at home, work and on my cell phone. They can be different numbers each time. I have read in forums that a lot of people have complained and tried to report these numbers. Seems to not be working. For this number I searched and found who it was. Here is a link to the site I found. Maybe we can just do so****ing back. These are scam artists preying on the weak.http://www.cscontario.ca/web_page/news.php?id=dft305
I've gotten the exact same call on both my personal cell number, and my company-issued BlackBerry (I have never given out this number for personal business, so getting the same message is quite a coincidence). The message is an automated female voice stating that the factory warranty on my vehicle has expired, but it's not too late blah, blah, blah. Total nonsense, and obviously a scam. Strangely enough, in addition to the Caller ID listed below, I also get the same message from 1-800-219-7425. I filed a complaint with the FCC: https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do.
I keep getting this number calling me. It also called from a 6514908000. I've gotten this call maybe forty times in the past three months, and it usually occurs at night, or early morning (Probably between ten at night and six in the morning) which is ridiculous but I guess is okay considering they always call my cell phone and I can easily mute that at night. It's always the same, a male automated speaker saying "This is the second notice that the factory warranty on your vehicle has expired" and it says other **** about staying on the line and speaking with a rep. about renewing said factory warranty. No matter when they've called, it's always been the second freakin notice. Which I find hysterical, because I never got a "first" notice in the first place. It's strange, because I bought my car from a used dealer, and the factory warranty was up long before I bought it. Yes, I had a warranty, but only a nine month warranty (the time it took me to pay the thing off), and I had it through the dealer. After the dealer's warranty had almost expired, however, I s****ed getting this bogus call. After about the third time I did stay on the line, and spoke with a rep. He was very rude, and talked to me as if I were an inferior being, and that made me very angry. However, I asked him about the warranty and he said he didn't know, I'd have to give him the information on my car (make, model, VIN, license plate number, registration) and when I refused, he said "Look lady, do you want your **** warranty renewed or what?" So I asked him how that could be possible if he didn't even know what kind of car I drive, but he just kept asking me for the info. I finally asked him to give me an estimate and he said "Oh, I dunno, probably around fifty dollars a month?"Yeah, so that's wayyy too much, considering I'm just a college freshman, so I of course, refused, even though he asked me my credit card number (Don't have one) and my checking account number (A***n, don't have one) for verification of call.I refused, told him I pitied his lame job, because of course I knew it as a scam, and ***g up on the poor man. Now, whenever I get the call, I pick up, hear the "This is the second..." and **** up.It doesn't charge my phone at all, which is good, and I just ignore it. I haven't gotten a call from them in about a month, though they may be biding their time to call later and surprise *****ough next time I do, I'll ask the guy (Because it's always been a male operator, the same one too...) his name and where he works, than tell him to expect the police to contact him.It is a bogus call, though my one friend said she had the same number call her for a different reason, I think it was so****ing about her AVON Rep. account (She said there was no word from AVON that she was no longer a rep. so she just ignored it after verifying that with them), and another said his was for the same reason (he had just bought a used car as well, though through a different dealer than mine), so I'm guessing it's just a targeted scam, calling people they think they can dupe.My suggestion is to ignore it as best you can. It's bogus, though very funny.
