Leave a Commentwould like to register a complaint a***nst this number. they call me all the time and insist that they are bank of america. However, my bank of america cards are closed...so they are fraudulent.
This is a FRADULENT number claiming to be card services of Bank of America. On the caller I.D., it will show up as "Bank of America," however I have found after resear****g that it is NOT. When I tried to return the call, I received busy tones, which made me su****ious. After finally getting through the line, a lady answered and claimed to be card services from the credit division of Bank of America. However, she sounded unprofessional and the number did not appear to be a Bank of America number (I am a customer of Bank of America), so I asked her many questions. After realizing I was on to her scheme, she claimed she called me "in error." I then called a legitimate Bank of America number that was listed on their actual website: www.bankofamerica.com. THE ACTUAL BANK OF AMERICA REPRESENTATIVE CONFIRMED FOR ME THAT THE 336-805-8946 NUMBER WAS IN FACT FRADULENT AND HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH BANK OF AMERICA. Turns out, this 1-336-805-8946 number is a fraudulent "phishing" company that will try to get private information from people who are unaware of this scheme. I have been a victim of fraud before and have since been very cautious. Fraud may happen to anyone. Please take the necessary steps to help protect yourself from fraud.PROTECT YOURSELF FROM FRAUD:If anyone ever receives a call, please double check the number regardless of what is listed on the caller I.D. There are many fradulent numbers out there that would pose as a legitimate company and will try to get valuable information from those who are unaware of these schemes. Secondly, a legitimate company will NEVER ask for your Social Security number, account number, or any other private information when calling you. You will NOT need to confirm your address--if they are legitimate they are calling YOU and will already have those information on file and therefore will not ask for that information. The only time you may need to give that information is if YOU are calling to that company. If that is the case, always make sure you are calling a legitmate number. To confirm whether it is a legitimate number, make sure it is a number that is either: found on your billing statement, or a number from their actual website or any other confirmed source.I hope this helps everyone!
These guys call day and night and never leave a message. This is a business number so I cannot put it on the do not call list. Some days there are 12 calls from this number. I am not wasting minutes answering if they cannot leave a message.
