I have a texting app on my iPod touch. I got it for christmas, but recently this person who I dont know. I've gotten two texts from this person. One said, "my family and I went skiing this weekend", and another one was,"I beat some guy in fencing 15-9". Whenever I called then back they never answered and I get a metallic screech from them. Also, they know my nickname. I don't have a Facebook and only my friends know my number. What's going on?

This number often appears as the sender when you send text messages from web-based services. For instance, my email provider lets me send 50 free international text messages per month, and this number is always shown as the sender even though it is not my number.

Got this number from a guy online - seemed really sweet at first.  Sending me love messages, etc.He claims to be rich, then s****s ASKING ME FOR MONEY and gives me this number as his phone number, but tells me only to TEXT him, and NOT TO CALL!  I call anyway to leave a voicemail, and a woman answers!!  SCAMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Also - "guy" says he lives in Maryland, but phone number is in New York!!)

My fiancée gets messages from me from this number.  If I send her a message using BiteSMS credits, they're SUPPOSED to show up on her phone as coming from my phone number, but lately, they've been showing up with that number instead.  If she texts that number back, though, I never receive the response.  Do your boyfriends/significant others have iPhones?  If so, that's probably what's happening to you, too.

Sent me a text on May 26th saying:Hope this is your iPhone. Have a good day my dear. <3I've no idea who this could be. New York city prefix, but that means nothing. I replied immediately that day asking who they were, but got no response. Then sent another text earlier today simply saying*****o, but a***n, no response. Would love to know.

They sent me a love text message, I can't get them to respond.  I called back and they ***g up.

They keep texting me love messages, I can't get a name out of them!
