Same as others- responded to Craigslist about furniture and offered an overnight cashiers check with extra $50 to hold. Thanks to others for posting.

New York phone offering to buy furniture from California. They ask for name and address and offer to send cashier's check. However, they responded 10 minutes after ad was posted and didn't respond to repeated requests to call to confirm. Not sure their play but others report same scam.

Said they would send me a cashier's check for furniture for sale on Craigslist and asked for name and address. Told him I would accept cash only, and he said "check only." I told him to pound sand and find someone else to scam. Thank goodness I was using a Google number to communicate.

Same attempted Craigslist scam - I had a piece of furniture listed on Craigslist - contacted me to try and send a cashier's check +$50 over the amount and "my movers will come after the check clears" Not falling for it.

Received text responding to my Craigslist post for furniture for sale. Wanted my name and address to send cashiers check overnight with an extra $50 for the hold and movers would come to pick it up. I did not fall for it as it sounded like a scam.

Contacted me via Craigslist to purchase an item I was selling and sent me a cashier's check. Check turned out to be for extra money and said it was to pay movers. I ******ly fell for it but realized it was a scam and reported it.

I’m selling furniture and he said he wants to buy it by sending me a certified check. He is sending a driver to me this Friday.

Person emailed me via Craigslist and later by text asking about an item I had for sale. Blocked the number based on the information I saw here.

Wanted to purchase an item I listed on Craigs list. “ I will mail you a Cashiers check overnight delivery. Will add extra $50 for the hold. My movers will come for pick up after the check clears. Whats your name and address so I can mail the check ASAP?” Thanks to this warning, I didn’t fall for the scam. So****ing seemed off and not right so I googled the number.

I received a text from Rick H asking about a craigslist item. I blocked it based on the information here.

Same as others’ report. Rick n. texted me asking to buy a good I listed on Craigslist by sending casher’s check with the addition of 50USD to hold. Thanks to everyone’s alerts, I stopped the communication, thanks for sharing. This is a scam.
