I received a message on my parents house phone from this guy with a heavy indian accent claiming he was the IRS and his name was Jeff and to call them immediately or a federal warrant would be issued a***nst me. Clearly its a scam...the IRS does not make initial contact by phone.
Last two days I have received phone calls from a man with a heavy Indian Accent. Said he was with the office of Mike Johnson. Has to be total scam.
My experience mirrors Ann's. His name was Cooper
LOL hes*****a dumb, I told him "nice job you have there, being a scam artist" and he told me to ***k off. LOL
HA HA Same guy, indian or **** accent, who knows, maybe persian..."harry Smith" this time...I am "primary subject in a case being "piled" ( not compiled) by IRS blah blah afdavit on my name and address, blah blah "Sorry to say will be severe legal consequences if I don't return call"...............ooooohhhhw I'm trembling, maybe he'll break down door. Highly illegal if he gets caught, they'll throw him out of country after jail time.
I received a call from this number, claiming he was Officer Harry Smith with the IRS and that I was guilty of Tax Fraud. He had my address and home phone even though they are un-listed/un-published. I got his name, badge number, and then called my local sheriff's office and reported the entire thing. I then submitted a complaint on www.tigta.gov.
Received a message from 347-949-7315. Caller ID said New York, NY. The man had a strong Indian accent and said he was Officer Mike Johnson from the Grand Department of Investigations. He said the very second I received his message I or my attorney needed to return his call. He said the issue at hand is extremely sensitive. He said not to disregard his call and to call back before he took legal action. I reported this scam online to the FTC website.
Receive a call but no message from this number on 6/18. They called back on 6/19 and a man with a very thick Indian accent stating his name was "John Smith" left a *****ge stating he was a Tax Crime agent and me or my attorney need to call back the minute I recieved the call before they took legal action a***nst me. It's funny how they are using VERY common US names. I would like to think if I am paying my good 'ol tax dollars to my treasury department every year like I'm supposed to....they wouldn't outsource Tax Fraud Investigations. Has anyone gotten a call from Jane Smith yet? Or Jane Johnson? Hahahaha!!
Called this number back- they threatened me- please report them!
A man with a thick Indian accent called claiming to be from the IRS and needed yo speak to me about an urgent matter.
A man left a voice mail on my land line saying he was calling about an IRS Criminal Investigation. He could barely speak english. I called back and they answer by saying, "Thank you for calling". I asked what company it was and he gave me some ****** answer and stuttered over the answer. Then he said he was the IRS and I said, "then why wouldn't you answer the phone by saying IRS?". I kept asking him questions instead of letting him ask me questions and he finally said, "Can you hold for a minute while I connect you?" Then he ***g up. Reported the SCAM to the IRS.
Hard to understand. I do believe his name was smith, he had an accent. He said IRS was threatening legal action. call was 6-18-14, 6:18 am

Guy finally admitted that he is not from IRS after I said some pretty unsavory things to him. I kind of called him my son...actually Junior. This guy is definitely a scam artist. Not a smart one, but a scam artist all the same. I did report the number to the Treasury Department after I had a little fun with him.
Any such calls should be immediately reported to the Treasury Department: www.tigta.gov. Or call them at 800-366-4484. Have them track down w***ver is using wireless number 347-949-7315 and pretending to be an IRS agent.

Got a call from this number saying they are an IRS Agent and asked for information. Definitely scam.
Received two calls from this number today. A man with a thick Indian accent left a message claiming to be an officer (John Smith? Really?) of a ***nch of the IRS. He mentioned our name, supposedly having an affidavit, and leading a investigation based on my husband's social security number. He left the same kind of threat/warning as other comments mentioned... "If you do not return my call, I am sorry to say, there will be unfortunate consequences." I could hear people talking in the background. Ridiculous.
Received phone call on house land line at 11:00 am. Person said " I am IRS tax investigator, my name is John Martin", had an asian (??) accent. Scammmm...
