Walter Christie Jr., 56, is charged with threats of terrorism and first-degree harassment. If convicted, he faces seven years in prison. According to Iowa court records, Christie was arrested Oct. 20, 2017, for trespassing. The next day, two women from Lincoln, Ne***ska, posted his $300 bond — and told****tawattamie County Sheriff’s Office deputies they did not want to take Christie with them “because he is very violent and they were just going to leave his belonging outside of the jail.” The women were told not to do that, but, despite the warning, they left Christie’s clothes and his dog outside the jail anyway, the report reads. As Christie was released from jail, he took his dog and half of his clothes with him. Authorities later contacted Christie to ask when he would return for the rest of his belongings. He stated he would also be accompanied by “two other security officers and they would all have ARs so we better be ready,” the report reads. “Walter called the jail back at 1:52 a.m. and said he was going to take over the jail with Humvees and the sheriff was going to get hammered,” according to the report. About 20 minutes after the phone call, Council Bluffs Police officers were dispatched to an area hotel for a report of a male causing a disturbance. That male was Christie, who was screaming at police that he was going to “blast the door with his ****gun and handgun,” and was going to **** the officers, the report states. Police were able to talk Christie out of his hotel room and found no weapons on him or in the room. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment, the report states, and a year passed between being treated and his court hearing Wednesday. Christie’s next hearing is set for Dec. 10. He is currently out on $1,000 bond.
