University of Ne***ska's Bureau of Sociological Research doing health surveys for Department of Health. I called toll free number and spoke with a supervisor they gave me these web sites to check them out: www.bosr.unl.edu and dhhs.ne.gov/brfss after checking into it I did the survey. They did not ask for my address, or any other personal information that would identify who I was.
State of Ne***ska conducting health survey. Told them I was su****ious and they gave me web sites to look them up. I looked them up while I was one the phone and it was legit. One web site was for UNL who is contracted to conduct the surveys. I proceeded to do the survey and they never asked for any personal information to keep is anonymous.
Tobacco survey.
Said my number had been randomly selected for a survey and the health of Ne***skans. At first he appeared to be on speaker phone and I told him I couldn’t hear nor understand him. Then he apparently took it off speaker phone. In my gut it just didn’t feel right so I told him I wasn’t interested.
No message left.
It is obvious to me that the ****s that call endlessly just monitor these postings. If we say we don't want to talk or are not interested quit calling!
www.dphhs.mt.gov/brfssEach state probably has it's own web site that is tied in to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The interviews are being conducted for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention which is headquartered in Atlanta. The research is being conducted in all 50 states and has been for around 20 years - www.cdc.gov/brfss. They do not operate off a "list". The area code and prefix are known, the last four digits are randomly generated. The grant went to 41 communities across the nation that recognized childhood obesity is becoming a problem in this country. The grant did not came from the U.S. taxpayers, it came from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.Yes, "God spare us" that research is being conducted to help improve health education, healthcare, and may possibly save lives. Oh, and since this has been conducted across the nation for nearly 20 years, it is not directly tied in to the insurance industry or Obama's healthcare reform. That is a big misconception.
What exactly is the name of this organization and where is their headquarters located? In which states are they conducting research? My sister gave me a cell phone. She lives in Illinois. I live in Montana. I am getting repeated phone calls from this same number, which I have never given to anyone other than family and a very few others. I'm grateful for this website, which gave me a clue. I am considering contacting the State of Montana to request that any organization doing surveys also be required to follow the state (& federal) Do Not Call listing.I could give you some very good information about asthma and quite a few other modern ailments from alternative medicine perspectives. I've researched & figured them out myself, and no one paid me to do it. I'm not interested in providing personal information to the insurance industry or to any physician other than my own. And just who is paying for this multi-million dollar grant? The U.S. taxpayers? God spare us!
You are correct, the State of Ne***ska does not consider an 18 year old an adult, however, in terms of entering in to a legal and binding contract. For purposes of health education and health research an 18 year old's health and health practices are placed in to an age category where 18 is the minium age. The results of this specific health study can be located on the State of Ne***ska's web site http://www.dhhs.ne.gov/brfss/ and the Center's for Disease Control and Prevention's web site www.cdc.gov/brfss. You can clearly see how the information is being used and categortized, age group happens to be one of those groups. My child, and many in the Omaha Metro were able to benefit directly by one of the studies this organization did... the result was a multi-million dollar grant to educate children on nutrition and exersize to help prevent obesity. This was done through Live Well Omaha Kids. The information collected has also helped with asthma education and prevention programs, has been used by the American Heart****ociation, etc. It all goes towards education, funding important research and prevention, and helps doctors with improving preventative healcare program. It's amazing how this information benefits everyone.
I recieved a phone call from this number asking to speak to an adult male 18yrs or old to take a survey. When I told the person on the other line that the state of Ne***ska does not concider a 18yr old an adult and refused to let my son partake. She insisted that I put him on the phone. That basically I had too. If I am by law responsible for my son's actions until he is 18yrs old then I shouldn't be FORCED to place him on the phone. When I told the woman no for the 7th time she said "Oh my God!!" then ***g up the phone. This is unprofessional in every possible way. THE STATE OF NE***SKA DOES NOT CONCIDER A 18YR OLD AN ADULT!!!
This survey helps to determine how federal funds are spent - it identifies how health behaviors are related to different diseases and disabilities. If you ever see on the TV that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says, "X% of people have high blood pressure / diabetes / etc," this information is likely coming from this survey. It also helps healcare providers improve services, programs, and education locally as well as state wide.Information and copies of the surveys can be found at : www.cdc.gov/brfss
