Leave a Commentit was a collect call from a jail
carrie
just got a call from this number. I have no idea how they get.my number but it is a scam. went to voicemail. do not answer this number!
I saw so****ing about this on the news. When you answer you will be asked to accept a collect call. People who have were connected with a person posing as an inmate who is family. They ask for money for bond. It amazes me the extremes a scam artist will go to... I would think it would be easier to get up in the morning and flip burgers for $8.50, but I guess that's just me.lol
Is a debt collection agancy. Looking for the old owner of my number.
This sounded like a prison phone call.
wouldn't say anything when I said*****o

DOnt know who this is I's
I received a call from this number at 630 pm. The call went to voicemail. The message that was left was just a partial message as it s****ed the moment my phone picked up. The message says "attorney and client. If you wish to accept this call as a collect call ple" The call dissconects then. I don't know anyone who is in prison so after some research this is the conclusion I have arrived at. This number is a general number used by several prisons and state jails in the mid west. If you know someone who is in jail it is most likely a legitimate call. If the caller asks you to call any number that s****s with *72 then it is a scam. *72 is the code most company's use to forward calls. The scam works like this. You get a call from this number asking you to contact someone (in prison or some type of emergency). The number you are told to call is *72 1-*******-****. By typing in this number in your phone you are forwarding any calls you receive to the phone number 1-*******-****. The person who called you and asked you to call *72 1-*******-**** then calls back, your phone automatically forwards that call to 1-*******-**** and they speak for free. Often times the number you are asked to call is international or some sort of pay per min call. YOU will receive the bill for these calls. If you have been duped by this scam the answer is simple, just dial *73 and turn off call forwarding. You may also want to discuss taking care of any incurred charges with your phone company. Hope this helps anyone with questions.
Automated system requesting us to press 1 to accept collect call. Called twice, both times after 10 PM.

Received an automated call "from the Newton County Correctional Facility" about a family member. I don't have any family members in jail. They called 6 or 7 times, and I just **** up after the 2nd time, when I pressed '3' to not accept the collect call charges. My caller ID said it was from 402-978-7565 and listed the name as "Accurate Comm".

This is a number from someone that is in jail.I have a friend in jail in Missouri- I think the phone provider there is originating in Ne***ska. What the person said below about Quest is most probably right.
They called 3 times stating they were from the local county jail. The person on the other end was Hispanic and I couldn't understand a word he said. I hope they just send him back over the boarder
I am a Bail Bondsman in Kansas and have recieved several calls from this ****. He calls and give a story about being in jail some where in Kansas and wanting a Bondsman to get him out. This has been going on for several months now. Sure wish he would get a life and find so****ing good to do with his time, Guess it doesn't take much to amuse someone as ****** as he is.
Douglas County Sheriff's office did look into this. It is not a county facility. So, don't answer it and if you do **** up. Do not follow any instruction. Relax, it is not a friend or relative in jail. It is a scam for your money or access to your phone so calls can be charged to it.
I contacted Douglas County Sheriff's office and received a reply that I should continue investigating on my own. Seems to be just another ***nch of law enforcement who only are interested in the easy arrests and investigations.
I got a call yes****ay from this number. This was the first call and they let us speak for about 30 seconds, then it ***g up. I got another call this morning from this number and it was an automated phone service and they said "you have a collection call from Steve in the penitentiary if you decide to accept his call 3-way calling and call waiting is used your call with be terminated, press 1 to accept the call. I pressed one and it said that an account had to be set up, which I set an account up with another company yes****ay for where I thought he was being held. It would not go through. it then told me to call IC at 888-506-8407. I call and they do not service where I thought he was being held. I also called the facility that I thought he was in, but they have no record of him. I spoke with the FBI agent and he said that I would have to wait until Monday morning to speak with a U.S. Marshall to find out his location. I am so worried.
