called asking for my son, was a lady and state she was a friend. I knew she was lying.

The phone number (404) 298-9842 is for the DeKalb County Jail AND any office, including the Medical Examiner's Office that is within that same area. They are all run off the same phone tree and the caller id is programmed to display the "*****" number that you all have seen. It is however, for those of us that work at one of these locations a FANTASTIC number to give out to pesky people/businesses in search of your phone number. :)

"Dekalb County Medical Examiner's Office," the poster just above, is full of ********  I know it's the Dekalb County Jail because my son was just put in there and had been calling me all night from other numbers.  Caller I.D. also says Dekalb County.Do not be freaked out.  ***ody's dead.

This phone number that is calling is the Dekalb County Medical Examiner's Office, if you receive a call from it, it is someone from the office calling to notify you the results of an autopsy or to notify you of the ***** of a loved one.  It is not the Jail.

I too got this call 4/22/09 at 12:50 am which woke me up.  I will be turning my phone off every night now.  This is *****ic that this can't be stopped.

I got a call this morning.  Very loud in the b/g, so no surpirse it's the jail.  Maybe it's ACORN trying ot get people to register.They ***g up as soon as I said*****o.

I just got a call from the same but and when I picked up saying*****o. They just breathed into the phone and ***g up.

sounded like someone was trying to fax so****ing to me when I got a call from this number.

Received a call from this number at 2:41 AM but didn't hear the phone ring.  No idea who it is.  I called back and it just rang and rang...
