Not sure of the legality, but was finally able to trace the "999-999-9999 ­" number back to Nuance Software (www.nuance.co­m). Its their sales dept - and I was getting these mysterious calls for the past 2-3 weeks. No messages, no one online. Finally got a message today and was able to ID them. They have some great products (PaperPort, OmniPage, Dragon Naturally Speaking, etc.) but I told them they just lost a sale using this tactic to conceal their phone number. I own some of their software, so I am probably considered someone with an ""established relationship"" and therefore legal

Several of my students have received strange phone calls from this number. The caller has given strange and slightly creepy or stalker like messages, which has made them nervous. Th­e message at the number found through caller ID is the recording "this is a travel related call. if you wish to be removed from our database plase enter your 10 digit telephone number now." Or so****ing like that. I'd suspect a scam and would not want to put my phone number in that database.

I called the number back from a blocked phone and got a recording saything "this is a travel related call. if you wish to be removed from our database plase enter your 10 digit telephone number now."

I just got a call from this number on two of my phones and no message. weird. I think this must be a scam or so****ing.

Got a call from this number and no message---I find it interesting that I would get this seemingly random call from an unknown number and no msg left.
