Leave a CommentThis number called me twice today, and I thought it might have been my boss so I answered. Some girl named "Alee" said that the same story as everyone else's and that her boss just happened to step in. He then tried to get my banking information from me. I kept telling him that I will not give out my information over the phone. He eventually said that I would get so****ing in the mail and ***g up. Thankfully he had my maiden name on file and I am c****ing my card this week, but be careful out there!
I got called twice by these people. I picked up on the second call. The guy was very friendly and knew one of my old addresses and I told him I still lived there. He kept saying all I had to pay for was the opportunity cost of $19.16 and I had to just check the mail. Then a lady got on the phone asking about my bank information and when I told her there is no way I am giving her my expiration date she got ****ed and ***g up the phone. This is a total scam and if these people call back just **** up.
I didn't answer when they called, I never do. I'm glad I looked up the number now, my grandparents have been scammed like this before, from Florida too. Credit card company thought it was odd that my grandparents, from the Midwest, were ordering dozens upon dozens of Dominoes pizzas in Florida.I hope they call back, I'm gonna have some fun with these people.
This # has been calling since 12/1/09... i finally had enough and picked up today, it was a man, he asked if i was receiving my magazines.... i said no, he asked me "do u not check ur mail everyday?" not kidding he was talkin to me like i was a lil kid that didnt know how to do so****ing right. i told him "yes sir i do, but i dont understand what this is regarding" he ***g up on me mid-sentance...I am getting VERY angry, and am VERY tempted to call Orlando police department and tell them what is going on... anyone with me?
My story's the same as all the stories listed here. But, I just wanted to leave this advice here: Never stay on the phone with these kinds of people once you've realized so****ing's up. With all the technology that's out there now, you never know what they could do by recording your voice and doing match-ups.If you look the number up on intelius.com, you can find out info about them by paying the website for it. I haven't done it, but I'm putting this out there for those who've really been hurt by these calls (i.e. people who gave their credit card numbers out, etc.).I'm pretty ****ed..
So they called me.I almost fell for it. at first I tried to get so****ing out of it. I was like "YEA FREE STUFF!!"Then the woman talking to me was was supposedly a new employee (name: Chantal). She was doing her stuff, telling me that they have old info about some magazine subscription I had a while back that I was supposedly getting. I said I haven't been getting any and was supposed to get so****ing in the mail. They somehow have my address (got really scared), and first and last name (got REALLY scared). So I played along and got transferred to her boss (Ashley) who just happened to step in at the moment we stopped talking even though she said that Ashley was supposedly out.So ashley s****s talking to me. She repeats what Chantal had said earlier and told me it was just $19.16 to get 6 magazines!!! woohoo!!!1.......... not...So then she asks what bank I was with (cud have been chantal who asked me, but cant remember), I said I was with suntrust (I'm not. I'm not with any bank. I'm a college student who gets cash from parents [that sounds sad, but thats how ti is]). They said they had a billing info that is tied to my account (that did not exist). So they called out the first 4 numbers of the debit card that I did not have. I agree'd that she was correct. She told me that I should call out the next 4 numbers. I didn't. ( I dont have a card!!) lol. I pulled out an old visa gift card. called out the next four set of numbers and she told me to continue. I did not. I asked for their info. She just kept repeating (in an increasingly angry tone of voice) about the deal that I could me missing out on!! I just said that I'll think about it and I can't make a decision now. She then said that it is a "yes or no" question. I repeated myself. she then gave up and said that I will receive so****ing in the mail that if I wanted to do it, I would have information to do so. I doubt it will arrive, but if it does, it will be super sketchy.Another 1-800 number they gave me: 1-800-259-1649
I have a similar story about this number which called me twice today. First it was a man in the morning and then a woman at night. They kept on saying so****ing about magazines and I played along because I wanted to know if they knew my credit card number. They kept on asking about the weather and how long I lived in my current address, They said they were from Florida. They had old information about where I lived and I lied about everything else from where i banked to the type of credit card I had. I'm just worried because they knew my name and where I used to live. Should I be worried because they kept on saying they were going to send me magazines in the mail. If they do does that mean i have to pay them for this ****? I didn't give them my card number or anything.
Got my call this morning at 10:35. It's Christmas Break for me (College Student)so I wasn't fully awake at the time and let my voicemail get it. No voicemail. Called later and it was the exact same thing. They need to be put in jail. Period.
This number 1-407-233-0844 and the number 1-800-259-1649 show multiple times on my cell phone caller id. Never left a message. Call back the numbers and both say, "You have reached customer service after hours." Where have I put my phone number out there recently...? When applying for jobs at various places like Victoria's Secret and Best Buy.
I got a few calls from several different numbers, the first time i heard i was getting free magazines (60 free) was some time ago from a company "North Atlantic Magazine" or so****ing like that. I was getting calls from them and Savings2Go, American Liesure, and Easy Savers and I knew a bunch a companies got my credit card info, it was then i c****ed my information and I SUGGEST YOU ALL to request a NEW DEBIT/CREDIT CARD From your bank. These companies kept calling me and i kept messing with them giving all the info they wanted but as long as they no longer have the correct info, you should be in the clear. Request a new credit card from your bank provider so no harm can be done to your account.
Got 2 calls today on my cell phone. No voicemail either. I dont answer if I don't know the number. I may answer next time just to tell them to google their own number. The jig is up.
Received a call from this number shortly before 7pm this evening. I let it go to voicemail, and figured I would deal with it later. A few minutes later I checked my voicemail only to find they didn't leave one. So, I called the number back. There was no answer, but a message in a female voice saying "welcome to customer service. Our hours are from 9am to 7pm blah blah blah"... Customer service, of WHAT?! I'm a little confused. Then they give you the option of leaving a message, but there is no chance to... the message simply repeats back to the beginning. I would beware of this number.
called twice in one day no voicemail, called back and says its customer service
After the call, I googled to here. Same story. I don't know if the woman already knew my name because I said my name first. I didn't not hear very clear what she said, thus I said "I didn't get you". Then she said "maybe you don't understand what I was saying, wish you have a good day" and then **** up. I think she knew I am not good at English and would have no chance to con me. heyhey. From the previous story, I think she asked me if I received my magzines.
its scary how similar everyone else story is to mine. The girls name was Sh****le, she told me to write it down. When I asked what company she worked for, she said "Oops, sorry I'm new here," and prattled off some abbreviation. She asked about the weather and asked me how long I have been living in my apartment. She small talked and asking me several times what kind of credit card I had. And like a fool I told her. But then she wanted to know what bank it was with. Iv never head a telemarketing spiel like her's before, it just didn't seem real. And every time I told her I was uncomfortable with the questions she would make more small talk. I finally **** up on herHas anyone else ordered windows 7, i had to scan and attach a picture of my recite.
i think they got my number because i accidentally filled out a survey that i thought was for wal mart but it wasnt... now im getting alot of spam even w/ my spam guard hopefully im not getting iden***y thefted a***n
got a call from this number tonight. They said they were wanting to know if i was getting my magazines. Funny thing is i just s****ed getting people magazine and didnt know where it came from...... The guy tried to say he was new when i asked him for sure what magazines he was talking about. Claimed he didnt know the abb. He then kept reading the same line over and asking me how the weather was here...IF I WORE A COAT??? it is -8!! I s****ed to wonder then but was curious where he was going. Knowing full well i was not going to purchase anything thought i would just play along for a while. he asked if i had a credit card but didnt ask me for the number. He kept saying that it would only cost 19 a month but really wouldnt tell me what. he acted all confused and asked if i would take a survey from his boss on his service.....a lady then got on the phone. Said i wouldnt be charged anything new and that i am just going to get what i already paid for...not sure what they meant by that. she then said that she already had my credit card info and that since i had great credit with visa i could take advantage of this deal where i only pay for shipping. a***n the 19 a month. my visa is my child support debit! duh it doesnt even have credit. Then she said she could see that my credit card s****ed with a 4 and ended with a 0. I said yes and she asked if i could read it back to her.....I SAID NO! If you already have my number then why would i need to read it back to you. She said thats how she verifies that i am who i say i am. I told her that she would have to find a different way cause i didnt feel comfortable. She got irratated with me and ended the call. Said she would send so****ing in the mail...yeah i wont hold my breath. So now i am trying to figure out how they got my info. They knew my name, my address and some of my credit card info and I just got the number a couple of weeks ago. I have given it out and tring to retrace my steps on where exactly i did. Careful and dont give your credit card to anyone over the phone! I cant wait until they call back now that i know for sure it is a scam i am going to mess with them!
Spoke to a woman this morning. She said she was contracted by my magazine publisher to call and ask if I was receiving my magazines. Of course, she couldn't IDENTIFY any of those publishers, or the magazines to which I subscribed. First she said she "was new there", then said the printout only gave reference numbers, which she could mail me. I told her to take a flying leap.Later that same day I got another call from another person from the same number. A man this time. When I asked what I had to do to get them to stop calling, he said they'd take my number out of their database...but even as I tried to **** up, he tried to get information from me about whether my magazines were coming satisfactorily.
Called but ***g up when I answered.
got 3 calls from this number in the past 2 days. no voicemail.
