Leave a CommentThis is a fraudulent organization. I worked for Art Miller for a short time, and in that time I witnessed enough for me to know this organization as one you don't want to give anything to. Art Miller also owns the Jobs for Students ( JSF ) organization. They'll call you, and pitch you the Christmas for Kids campaign. Then a week later they'll call you with someone different, and pitch the Jobs for Students. Donations to either go in to the pocket of Art Miller. I was one of those unfortunate individuals who were terminated from employment with the organization because, and I quote " You aren't producing enough SALES ". Contributers were regularly refered to as customers, and contributions are referred to as sales. I was told on regular occasions never to mention our certification with the Secretary of state, or the work we did with other organizations. I did some checking, and it turns out that they DO NOT work with other organizations in the local area. If anyone ever calls you, or mails you so****ing from the Jobs for Students, Kids Support Network, or the Christmas for Kids don't give them ANYTHING ! I can tell you at least 70n percent of contributions will not go to the community. It'll go right in Art Millers Pocket.
Got a call from Kids Support Network looking for donations. Looked up this charity on the MD Sec of State's website. According to the MD Sec of State, in 2008, this so called charity spent 99% of the money it collected on management and fund raising fees. It's a sham! Don't throw your money away. And get this, the MD Sec of State site says that they are in compliance with state requirements! Go figure. Surprised? I’m not. Some politician in Annapolis or Baltimore must be getting paid pretty well.
I just received a call this same telephone number. Very slick caller. Got real chummy and polite. He claimed that his charity was primarily supported by Project Echo, Catholic Charities et al and focused on kids in the ***tington area. I knew he was reading a script because we live in ***tingtown not ***tington. We would have heard about this group I'm sure if our church was giving to it. Sounds fishy to me.
I for one am a dept of social service worker in glen burnie and I for one have never heard of the kids support network or art miller smells like a scam
Received call from woman saying a truck would be in my area tomorrow and did I want to give so****ing for a charity called Kids Support Network, as part of their annual Christmas drive to help provide gifts to local children in the county social service program. Said they would leave a receipt for me. I****umed she was talking about a clothing donation and said I had nothing to give. Did some research on the Kids Support Network of Glen Burnie, MD. Do***ents filed by this organization, run by Art Miller aka Albert A. Miller III, indicate that 72 percent of the funds collected in 2006 went for fundraising, not helping kids! Their IRS form 990 shows that they took in $197,000 and paid an organization called FAI Registered Fundraising $126,000 in 2006 (and $90,000 in 2005). A google search shows that FAI is Fraternal Aid INC, a fundraising organization housed at 7143 E Furnace ***nch Road, Glen Burnie. Kids Support Network is at 7123 E Furnace ***nch.
