what's the POINT of this call or is this what they get paid for

This is Pinnacle Financial.  They are debt collectors who harass people by calling several times a day using different numbers which show up as being from different places-Texas, Florida, California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, etc.  They don't seem to care if you are not the person they are looking for-sarcasm and rudeness abound.  My advice from personal experience is to not answer their calls.

Large collection agency with offices all over the US.  They will call you several times a day and at night, all from different numbers and different states.

They called and let it ring three times and ***g up.

Got a call from this number, the second I answered & said "hello" they ***g up.

Got a call from this number. The caller left no message.
