It's a small world!! For scammers

Along with many others, I got this text message in an attempt to "phish" for a credit card number - (9099)Customer issue,Visa service frozen, call at 414-434-4743This number is a landline in the Brown Deer area of Milwaukee.  It appears to be issued by a landline service provider called "Us Xc****e Of Wisconsin Llc", which lists the business number (608) 268-7200 for Madison and the number 800-353-8000 for Green Bay.  Please call this provider and demand termination of the landline number.  Demand that the provider send the account informatiuon to the Federal Trade Commission and FBI.  The Milwaukee Police Department hasn't responded yet but I am going to persist.  Call them also to complain.  This phishing scam which has touched your life will fool some people.  Let's stop it.  It exists only because of lack of effort and initaiative, which lets this easily soluable matter to fall through the *****s.  Please make a few calls.

Just got the text on Dec 25 at 6 PM PST ..it stated caller iD 9099 your Visa has been frozen call 414 434 4743 immediately.  I called and it sounded very official including ...this call may be recorded for performance or quality control they begin by asking for your Visa card number ... **** up ..and report it to the FBI National Credit Card Fraud unit.

Its a scam DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER it is a fishing text to steal information

I called Visa. They confirmed it's a scam. They said a lot of people have been scammed. Don't enter any information!

I think the are operating on the hope that enough people shoped on line for Christmas gifts that have not arrived on time, and hope that we will think this is where the answer to "Where is my gifts ordered?" will be found.

i got the same text message at about the same time.i wouldn't reply or call back. i wish someone could track them down and prevent them from scamming easy targets.

got the same text @ 3:15...not going to call back!!

got this sms about an hour ago. kind of freaked me out since I had just ordered airline tickets online about 3 hrs ago. Luckily I called the 800 number on my visa card.

I think they are phishing for people to try to get credit card info. DO NOT CALL!!!!!!

just got the same sms, it has to be a scam. Whatever you do DO NOT CALL THE # BACK! I have seen scams like this before. It's usually a way they "fish" for people to fall into the scall.

I just got the same message. Definitely a scam because our Visa card has no connection with the number we received the call on.

I just got this text message too.  Have not called it, and plan on deleting after more research.  Merry Xmas!  We've been scammed!
