The goverment route to stop these calls wasn't working so I searched and found an enterprising private company at 866-246-7196 that provide this service to a small number of companies that call consumers. Their clients minimize complaints and save time not calling people who don't want to be called and the call receiver gets the calls stopped. Just need to give them the caller's phone number to verify on their list and the receiving phone number to add to the do not call list.
