Leave a CommentSCAM---I am a police officer and this number called one of my citizen's pretending to be her grandson in Ca***a. The "grandson" said he was in a car accident and had a head injury and a broken arm. He had been released from the hospital but needed to pay for the rental car in order to leave Ca***a and return to the USA. He told her to go to a CVS Drug store and get 5 $500 money cards, totaling $2500. The grandson would then call her back a few hours later to get the numbers on the back of the cards to "pay the bill." This is a complete scam and my citizen did not fall for it. Her grandson was fine and at home. Please do not fall victim to this. It appeared they were targeting senior citizens.
I picked up only because of the bogus 'URGENT' showing in caller id. Recorded message s****ing, "DON'T **** UP...." I pressed zero in an attempt to speak to a live agent, which disconnected the call. I called the number back 4 times but cannot get through, "The number you have dialed cannot be connected..." Fake caller ID's should be illegal. No way to opt out should be illegal. Consumers have no recourse??? I'm going to s**** filing police reports as long as I have a number (even if it is bogus). You should do the same.
All it said was urgent call; however, they left no message.
