Leave a CommentThese scammers have been calling me for 3 years. They c****e the company name and location of the prize pick up. They are looking for married couples between 25-65...this time I told them I got divorced and never want to be called by "his" name a***n. He ***g up on me!
Got a call from Ca***ian Value Solutions offering free trips as well....And as well nice WASP name George Morrison....with Indian accent...hidden but recognized.....They're asking as "just" to come and to attend presentation....Scam? Probably..... I won't go I guess.......They said I visited one of GTA malls recently(July - Sept) - however last time I've been to that mall was 9-10 month ago... My rough guess they're picking some names from Yellow Pages or other Lists and randomly calling those "victims".....
Got a call from Rueben Francis tonight asking me to confirm coming to a 90 minute presentation tomorrow. He didn't like me telling him tomorrow is my only day off so I'd rather come another day. He said they were calling all the people who didn't respond to a letter in the mail. He insisted I come tomorrow as they are running out of vacations. Another woman who I couldn't understand called two days ago with the initial info, Ruben's rep. They want people who make $50,000 and above. He said they give away free vacations so people can try them out since they don't advertise. After the people try out the vacation they will consider them for holidays. Same address and phone number in Vaughn. They told me originally they were from International Awards Inc. representing Airmiles and Shoppers' Drug Optimum Points and I had racked up 200 pts in a short timeframe. This sounded unbelieveable as I don't shop at Shopper's and only get one Airmile slowly.
Hey I just received a call from this Ca***ian Value Solutions as well. I work in marketing myself and in consumer packaged goods we ensure there is no confusion in what the consumer is getting. I believe this type of marketing should be absolutely ILLEGAL . Can you imagine if someone that fell for it actually drove all the way to Vaughn, got a babysitter etc? They are making you think you filled out a ballot and won a prize. But for any contest, you have to answer a s**** testing question, fill out forms etc. I am very upset by it and I wish that such companies excercised a bit more transparency before they call people in the privacy of their own home.
They told me I had signed up for a contest in July (Now Nov) and that I had won a trip to 1 of 10 destinations from Buffalo. When I told him I didn't sign up for any contest he told me that I was human and not likely to remember what I did yes****ay never mind 4 months ago. Thats when I ***g up.
Got a similar call today, with the story that I had filled in a form last January and didn't I remember doing that? I was told I won a prize to one of the four locations mentioned above..I only remember Los Vegas. I could barely understand the lady who called me, very thick accent. She tried to make me feel like this was legitimate by given me her name: Vanity Wilson, employee id (105) and the customer service number of 416 800 1280. And gave me an address where I had to go to pick up my prize - 216 Chrislea Rd, Suite 202, Vaughan, Ontario L4L-8S5 . Would that be a 905 number? I couldn't find the zip coe or the the street name in Ca***a411.I asked if there was a presentation I had to go to but was told no. They wanted me to verify if I was between 29 and 74, was working and had a family income of over $50,000. I smelled time sharing or some kind of scam, so I told them I wasn't working and my family did not earn over $50,000. That should have disqualified me but, no, they completely ignored that and continued on, saying a higher level manager would call me soon with details of how to get my prize.A second caller (Rubin)..called back and asked me if I had any questions. I tried to hurry him up but he was keeping to his script. I never got the description of the dinner and presentation..I got fed up and just told him to take my slip with my name and tear it up and ***g up.Don't waste your time with these people. Thanks to all of you who shared your experiences. Glad to find out I was not alone in my perception that this was a SCAM.
I got a call today also offering me a free trip including flight to the same locations as the previous people in your website commentsWhen the manager called me with the details on how to pick up my prize, I told him that I was currently on line ,checking them out at a site that called them a scam and suggested that I avoid any contact with them.He immediately ***g up with no commentthanks for the help
Received a call from 503-473-0119 saying that I was live on the radio with "92.7" "The Music Generator" in Vancouver, BC. They told me they were cele***ting Michael Jackson and that if I answered a trivia question correctly I could win a vacation to Las Vegas, Cancun, Orlando or LA. They then transferred me to someone that wanted my name and contact numbers. They told me that I'd receive a call from 416-800-1280 to receive more details on my vacation. As soon as I got off the phone I looked up both numbers and found out that the name of the radio station is bogus. If you receive a call from this number you are not on the radio, **** up.
I just got a similar call. Caller Id showed 5034730119 and claimed they were from a new radio station in Portland, OR called 107.2 and I was 'on the air' with DJ Shalley. Asked me the King of Pop question and then said I had won a vacation package. Someone is supposed to call back in 24 hours to award the prize. Needless to say, I checked and the call was bogus. So beware if you get any calls like this.....
They just called me and asked me and said that I was "on air" and asked how I was doing and then asked me who was the "King of Pop"... then said asked where I would like to go on vacation. She then said that someone would call me back within the hour with details. I immediately googled their number and then found this site. Company: Vacation InternationalSame scam as above.
SAME LIKE LAST COMMENT GOT THE CALL TODAY WANTED TO VERIFY AND INSISTED I AM UNDER NO OBLIGATION ..SOUNDS SO MUCH A SCAM ..WHY WOULDN'T YOU JUST SEND ME THE ****** PRIZE ..
Got a call from Ca***ian Value Solutions offering free trips, 3 days, 2 nights, airfare, hotel etc to Las Vegas or LA or Orlando , Cancun or New Orleans. Caller insisted I didn;t have to do anything but come and collect the prize. When I said I had kids *** would have to bring them along, they suggested I get a baby sitter since there was a prizing ceremony. When I suggested I wouldn't stay for it, just collect my prize, they said there was a dinner and a short presentation. In the end I insisted that I couldn't come unless I brought my kids and they told me they would hold onto the prize until I let them know. Contacts were Gabriella Adams and Sean McKenzei (who with such a wonderfully Anglo name had a very heavy Indian accent). I looked it up - they actually have a website - and alos googled other peoples comments and it appears its a scam. Don't fall for it.
