called for a donation for fire department. saying lee greenwood was coming to town and was going to perform in order to raise money for the fire departments (selling tickets) i asked him how he got my number and he said the fire department has everyones name and address and quoted my address.i called the fire department and police the number was 413-282-***6 i called the police and fire department. fire department said it was a scam, i called the police they said the number was related to a Asheville "business".Not sure why nothing has been done about this. scary

I got a call from these people. I do know a few times they called. I've never been able to donate the requested amount ($25 at the time of this writing) but when I say not to send me a ticket and instead send donation information, they seem disinterested. I don't mind helping the firefighters, but I would rather support volunteer fire departments.

Ever time I set down to rest or eat dinner the phone rings. Myself or my wife gets up to see who is so perfect they can call at Dinner time. Most of the time they are no one on the phone, just that computer noise. They don't leave a message and the name on my call box comes up with TCFFA,But the phone number is

these people call all the time! we are on the blocked call list and they still keep calling!

Called several times in the past 2 weeks. Thanks to this site! I now know who they are and what they want. The last number they called from was 283-4739. Scams like this were recently reported on the local news!

they are calling our home during inappropriate times, and even Sundays. They need to leave a message and let people contact them if they are legitimate!!!!At our leisure.

These guys are calling from several numbers in the area soliciting donations for some "benefit". However, I have called two fire departments in the area and they both claim that this is a scam - that they don't know of any such organization. BEWARE OF THESE CALLS - THIS IS A SCAM

They call wanting you to send them money for fire fighters. I'm glad to know it's a scam because I fell for it once before and sent a little cash but I did not give them any banking or credit card info. Thank GOD! They called back about 6 months later asking for more donation money.

These people have to be the most aggravating people I have ever come across. They call several times per month soliciting for money for some unknown project - it's difficult to tell if its a scam since they wont give any information about who to contact to confirm their authenticity. I have called several fire departments in the area and most of them do their own fundraisers and I still cant get anyone to tell me who these guys are and what they do. They call home phones and work phones repeatedly, even after being told firmly "NO" or "DO NOT CALL BACK".

Calls two to three times a week. I just don't answer it. We are on the do not call list. These people are aggravating!

This place called & when the phone was answered, there wasn't anyone on the line...I as well tried to call the number back & recieved a busy signal. From what I have been told, the fire departments do not solisat(sp?) by phone, email, or door to door. Whom ever is doing this needs to stop or I am going to file harrassment charges. They have called several times over the past couple of days and everytime I answer, there is not anyone on the line.
