First search for a sample debt collection refusal letter on the internet, copy it and fill in the relevan info for yourself, send this letter certified return receipt to them (should cost about $5-8.00. This letter will at least stop them from calling you about a week or so after you send it. Then go to www.annualcreditreport.com and get your free credit report, dispute the charges with the credit reporting companies and force them to prove the debt. Most of the time they can't. This number keeps calling my phone exactly every 10 minutes, after about 20 calls I finally answered and head a recording telling me to hold a operator.The calls stopped of the New year's holiday but they s****ed back up a***n at 8am thins morning every ten minutes...I took the phone off the hook, I work at night and I need to sleep in the day.
