informed spammer

I received a random text from this number asking if “this is still (insert my name)’s phone numbe?” I responded that it was since it had a local area code and I thought it could have been a friend who’s number I had accidentally deleted. The following day I received a VERY convincing phone call originating from a s****ed Bank of America customer service number. The caller’s tone made me uncomfortable so I ***g up and called BOA to check on everything and they confirmed that it was a scam. I am obviously not certain that it was linked to this random number, but it could be so it was worth me looking it up.
