Thanks for the info, I called this guy back it was for my Nordstroms Card.  Nordstroms didnt have my new address and got sent to collections, woops my fault totally forgot about paying it.  But you were right he just set me up with monthly payments, didn't even know I could make payments when in collections, 6 months I'll be done.

Man talk about a different kind of debt collector, I lost my job last year and got way behind on tons of stuff.  I get calls all the time, this guy was not your average collector as he listened to me then actually explained to me about the process and gave me options that he could do to help me out.  I didn't believe him at first but checked with a banker friend of mine and he was right, so glad i didn't try and go through one of those debt companies, I just did it myself and saved me some money.  This guy rocks, now if I could just get these other collection companies to treat me right, it wouldn't be so painful.
