identifying themselves calling on behalf of an application for a credit card and they needed to know if I had really applied for a credit card. they said that within the last half hr a charge was attempted on my Amazon account for $1,000; and a $500 charge to a electronic tech store both in California . I was transferred to “Equifax”. who said they will cancel my cards for me and put a fraud alert on my accounts . wanted the expiration date on my credit cards, told them I didn’t have the cards and I was confined to bed. guy said his name was Jack and I needed to get that info to him asap so he could close the accounts. they said the alleged thieves had my SS# and verbalized only the last 4 digits of it. I then called the two credit cards involved and got my accounts closed the. contacted credit secure who I subscribe to and had them put a fraud alert on my records
