I listed cemetary property for sale in Winter Park FLA on Facebook. A man calling himself Jason Sowa emailed me and wanted to buy the lots. I agreed and he sent a cashiers check but it was $3,000.00 over the price said it was a mistake an would get it back when this was done. Then texted me that he had a family emergency and needed the money and could I electronically send it to him on PayPal or Venmo. I said the check was on hold for 7 days and I did not have that much available to send him but could send $1500. Then when I tried to send it PayPal sent to wrong email and I found out he did not even have a PayPal account. Luckily I got a refund from Paypal. Did research on line and found out that scammers do this. they send cashiers checks for more than the price and then try to get you to refund it before the check is cleared and you never see your money because the check is no good. SCAMMERS.

Cemetery plot buyer

Sent me check a check over asking price and said just to send additional money to an address they would provide later. Also included was someones else's check and told me to sent it to a address in TX.... I just returned both check to an address in SLC via USPS with the tracking # I've kept for my records

They said they wanted to buy a burial plot my dad is selling. They said they were mailing a certified check before even receiving any paperwork.
