This # may have been used in a scam, claiming Amazon was placing a sum of money on my credit card in order for me to purchase ebay gift cards to pay off a charge made to ebay by someone using a new card in my name. The person at this number said that someone, after placing a charge of $500 on ebay, was now trying to order a computer for $3400. He said it would not be accepted as a legitimate purchase until he spoke with me. He claimed that ebay does not issue $$$ back, so the purchase of gift cards was needed to clear the purchase and now allow Amazon to seek out the perpetrator and prosecute, thus having Amazon place $500 onto my credit card to purchase ebay gift cards. There was a text message to me indicating the $500 was being placed on my card. After the purchase of the cards, I had to give the person from Amazon the #'s on the back of the cards to pay off the charges. My bank shows no deposit of a credit of $500 onto my card. What a brilliant scam. I believed him because he had the 4 last numbers of my Amazon card and a Visa card.
