Left a short VM for an unknown name to me to "call back immediately to get this problem resolved. If we don't hear back from you we will have to close this matter out"... So to w***ver said this was someone callng collect from the Jail.... NOPE! SCAMMERS!!!

It sounds like someone trying to call from jail or prison but I don’t know anyone that would be calling me from jail so I’ve never answered. It always leaves a voicemail that is automated asking me to accept a collect call and that my call may be recorded for security reasons. Maybe next time I’ll answer and leave another comment on here as to whether or not I know the person.

IT IS NOT A SCAM! It just means that someone you most likely know, whom also knows your personal number and is trying to reach you. It’s not a prank call either. When you first answer, it will say that it’s a collect call, but at the end of the recorded msg, it will give you a free 30 sec. to talk to w***ver is needing to reach you, so you can find out who it is and what to do next.

If you're called by this number, it means someone you know is in jail and it doesn't have to be in Texas. I got a call from a friend in Cherokee County, GA

Various correctional facilities use this phone service (C-Tel, or Consolidated Telecom in TX). C-Tel is a company that acts as a middle-man to redirect outgoing calls made by an inmate. These calls to me were from my (thankfully, now x) boyfriend.

Seems to be a company that makes the collect calls from jails??

Receive calls from 646 - that is all it says.  They quickly ask for my boss, but won't leave any info & **** up if I ask.

Received a completed call today - It was an "authorized call" from a caller at the ***neville State School for boys.
