i found out the phone carriers contact number for this scam ar***ist 469-567-4698 and have notified them. i also have information on several other phone scam artists with the same approach. i will be posting them later after i file a complaint with the federal trade commision and each individual phone carrier. i have had it with these knuckleheads.

a middle eastern sounding man claiming to be officer richard thomas with the criminal investigationsdepartment. that was as far as i let him go, then i told him not to call back. of course he persistentlycalled back several times.

I keep getting calls from this number claiming i owe money. i hate these calls

I got the same type of message..I let it go to my voicemail..Couldn't really understand all of what he said on the message or his name..

Got my first call today. He had a foreign accent and said his name was John Matthews and he was with the US bureau of dept collection. Then later he was from the US Crime Investigation Bureau.  He had my social security number and had me verify it. He told me i have 45 min to come up with over 2,000 or I would be hand cuffed and carted off to jail for 80 months by my local police. When I asked what for, he told me it was a debt of mine from a pay day loan from years ago. I knew I had no debt anywhere so at this point I played along to get more info. He said if I didnt have it by today we could make a payment plan but not before I worte a letter stating yes the debt was mine and I am willing to pay for it. So a***n playing along I said ok but what would the payments be? He says 500 every 10 to 14 days. He asked for my bank account number and of course I said no. Told him I didnt have one. So he told me to go to walmart and pick up a pre paid credit card. And to send him the number from it in no less that 30 min or the police would be here to get me and take me to jail. At this point I told him that I KNOW I have no debt and asked him when I should expect the police to be by my house. Thats when he got threatening and told me he knew where my family was and he was going to come to my door and all this other BS. So I asked for his manager. He put me on hold for like 10 sec and came back on claming to be a different person. It was the same guy. I ***g the phone up and s****ed to dial my local police. He was calling a***n before I could even hit enter to make my call. I just let the phone ring and serched the number on the internet. Thats how I found my way here. I turned in his name and number to my local police. The number comes from Colorado so I contacted them too.  did some looking around and found out he calls from dif number and names too.719 219 1029 John Matthews818 532 9007 John HarrisMAKE SURE TO REPORT IT TO THE LOCAL POLICE!!!!!!!!!

i just got the same thing.  he can hardly speak english.  told him off too.

Got a call on my cell where someone with a very thick accent.. claimed to be Gary Harris left a msg.  Said he was with the government criminal investigation and that there was pending legal action a***nst my ssn which he had the last 4 numbers of and it was important that I call back right away about this government lawsuit they were going to file a***nst me.  What a crock!  Then he called my office where he s****ed his speal and I proceeded to tell him I knew he was a scam artist and that I had already contacted the police and to never call me a***n.  This isn't the first of these I have had but the first from this number.. all are a scam
