Leave a Commentyou contact your local police and file a police report, contact the FBI online, FTC, BBB, and post a message to every scam site you can find online. And you contact your telephone provider and tell them you want to bar or ban specific numbers from calling your phone and they will give you a code to press to block the call(s). In my situation the code was *60.
I did too on yes****ay. its a scam/fraud. call your locla police and file a report and do***ent everything.
the same thing happened to me on 2/8/2011. I have since been in contact with my local police dept and the FTC.
On 1/31/2011 at around 6pm, a man called me claiming his name was Officer Scott Mason calling for Money Cash Advance. He then called me names, cussed and threatened to arrest me the next day if I did not pay him $843.00 for a supposedly a $400 online loan he claims I applied for out online. He knew my social security number, address, full name, email address and last place of employment and said if I didn't pay him the company was going sue me and I would have to pay over $2000 in court charges. Then he had me write down his phone number to call him back which is (404) 981-6103 and said I had to fax him so****ing in writing stating that I authorize the debit in the amount of $843 from a prepaid card or credit card towards my outstanding amount and I ensure the payment won't get declined and I won't dispute this payment along with the date the money will be sent, the card information, exp date, CVV#, billing address, my signature, and attached photo id and to fax to (650) 560-1721. I have since contacted my local police department and filed a report with BBBonline, the FBI, consumer reports online, social security dept., and posted a message to every scam site I could find on the internet. And since I have received at least 2 emails from individuals stating that the same thing or similar has happened to them. Said his name was Alex Scott, his phone number is 469-718-7315 but on my caller ID it shows 315-551-5*** Syracuse, New York. I immediately phoned the police for whom I previously filed a police report with and added to the report. In addition, I contacted the FTC as well and reported it too.
I got a call from them today. I never answer these weird #s that show up on the caller ID. He said his name was Scott with some law firm. I couldn't really understand him, really, his accent was so thick. He told me that there was a lawsuit a***nst me and my social security # and for me to not disregard this call. How do you report them?
THICK VOICE, SAME PERSON THAT CALLED ABOUT 3-4 MONTHS AGO. THESE GUYS ARE ZEROS, THINK THEY CAN INTIMIDATE PEOPLE TO ANSWER THEIR CALLS. I ALWAYS LET MY ANSWERING MA****E ANSWER THE CALL AND MY LOCAL POLICE SAID TO TURN THAT RECORDING IN TO THEM AND THEY'LL INVESTIGATE.
I received a work from "Sam Wilson" claiming that money had been deposited into my account and was never repaid ..and that they case a***nst me and a had a hold on my social security number...he provided me with deposit date, transaction id# and case #...I told him that I could prove that I never collected any money and I was going to check my account and call him back...and when I tried the number he gave me I was unable to get through..that's when I looked up his number online...and found these messages...The thing that worries me is that he provided me with alot of my personal information...so, NOW WHAT!!!!
Hello all,I have too been receiving telephone calls from 469-718-7315 & 315-551-5*** back to back, Officer John Wilson with a pending law suit on my name and ss#. How do they get my (your) information? I have not call them back or spoke with them at all, but what can I do to stop them from calling me. This is so frustrating every time your phone rings or you check your vm it’s them with the same old mess. How do I go about reporting them to FTC?
They want to frustrate you do not talk to them incase they are recording your conversation. They may try to edit your words claiming you said so****ing that you never did.Just my opinion.
i got a call from this guy he called me yes****ay on my cell and then twice at work.He left me a voice mail but only said my last 4 digits of my SS. It is pretty scary tho how he has that information.he called today and I did answer and told him I can not understand what he is saying to me that he should send me so****ing in the mail if he has my address. It sound to me like what he was trying to say was scripted.
Just wanted to follow up. These people called me a***n today. The guy was persistent up until the point where I mentioned I had reported them to the FTC and requested to end the phone conversation. They were quick to hand out their number and get off the phone. Hopefully, they'll go away.
Got the same call last night. An officer "John Smith" with a very heavy accent said the same things. I called him back and tried to call his bluff, but he was very persistent. I finally got very frustrated and ***g up.
Yeah these guys called me today. Both with very plain american names but clearly from overseas. They claimed I had a pay day loan with Cash Max USA for $300 that I never paid. Completely false. They claimed that I would have to battle it in court if I didn't pay them. A pretty effective ploy considering the thought of going to court can be very intimidating for your average American. They became agitated when I s****ed asking questions, particularly when I asked them for their web site after they claimed they worked for the federal government. They even asked ME why I needed to know this information. And after a few pleasant exc****es, I got them to **** up on me and promptly reported them to the FTC with the information I had. From my non professional and limited opinion, these guys are frauds by scaring people with threat of legal action. I'd venture to say the sums are deliberately pretty small to give them a higher chance of being paid since some people might even pay a small amount to avoid going to court.
got the same voice message, from the same person this IS bogus so don't call back!
This person calls repeatedly and leaves a message in a thick indian/middle eastern accent that there is a pending lawsuit a***nst me.I do not anything and have asked for do***entation on the lawsuit. I have reported them to te Federal trade commission
I've received 2 phone calls - 1 even at WORK!! He says there is a pending lawsuit a***nst me and that I am making a fool of him if I don't resolve this. He kept saying that I needed to give him my debit card number and make a payment before Christmas. Very irritating that he is calling me at work! I didn't get the call but he left a voice mail. The name he gave me was Officer Richard Williams. I asked what UNLD stood for and he said it was for United Nations Labor Department. I looked it up on line and it is completly bogus!!
I got a phone call from a 315-551-5*** number twice within 5 minutes. I generally don't answer my phone so he left a message saying there is a pending lawsuit a***nst my name and social security number. He gave me a different number to call him back at. I called him back and he told me about the lawsuit. He said that "Easy Cash Advance" was filing a lawsuit a***nst me, claiming they deposited a loan of 650$ into my bank account and I never paid them back. No money was ever deposited in my account. He said the law firm he worked for was "UNLD" and his name was Daniel Richards. I still have the voicemail on my phone if I decide to investigate him for evidence. -Jen

I just got a call from a man with a middle eastern accent telling me that there is a pending lawsuit a***nst my friend for online fraud. He said that i was listed as a primary for her and that charges are going to be brought up on me as well. This is a lie.
