Happened in 2020….Person contacted me on Instagram. We went over to WhatsApp. I s****ed asking questions about what his rank in Army he was in, what division, etc. when he answered I knew instantly that it was a scam

Currently deployed in Iraq. says he’s from Portland Oregon and has photos with the name Stevens on the uniform. Goes by Travis and met him on POF

Someone going by the name Travis messaged me on TikTok saying he was in the Army. After messaging a few times he asked me to message him on WhatsApp. S****ed talking about wanting to find love and wanting to get to know me and explore a relationship. I had barely talk to this person so I looked up his phone number. Not the only person he has tried this on! Called him out and never heard from him a***n. Total scammer!!

Sent me message on TikTok, then had me use the whatsup app because he is in the army and deployed. Conversation was going well until he processed his love for and asked me to send money through cash app to load data. Yeah, he’s a scammer and goes by name Travis.

Says he is in the army and deployed. Asked for money to reload his data. When I asked him to send me a picture of him holding a specific object to verify it was him. He told me "never mind". I'm no fool!
