Leave a Commentsaid my bank card was deactivated----WRONG, it is a scam. Dont respond to this.
What do you mean you're "not sure what it is trying to capture"??? They are trying to obtain all your card information through this ****od which is called "SMISHING" which is Phising through SMS text messages. They will end up doing one of 3 things with the info: Take your card info and place it onto a blank host card and go make fraudulent purchases with it in person OR make fraudulent purcheses with it online OR sell the information to other fraudsters globally. Them "thanking" you is further proof that it made no difference what information you put it, it has an automated response.
Message Said my debit card was deactivated
Got a text saying that my debit card was deactivated and that I need to call this number. It was an automated attendant asking for card #, expiration date, pin, etc. I entered a bogus card number 1111 1111 1111 1111 and other bogus numbers and it thanked me.. so, not sure what it is trying to capture.
Also said my debit card was deactivated; not true, according to my bank. And, my cell phone is on the 'do not call' list.
