Keep in mind that the company CellTrust is the SMS gateway provider and has nothing to do with Career Network. They just provide SMS services and probably have thousands of other customers using their services for legitimate services. If you report the matter to them, they probably shut down Career Network as SMS is highly regulated by carriers. Best of luck with your job searches.

I encountered the same thing through different means.  I was responding to job posts on Craigslist when I received a text saying almost the same thing, except it was for a position in Human Resources.  I Googled all of the phone numbers I could find in the text and the number of the cell phone that texted the message as well as Career Network and found the same things you did.

I s****ed to apply for a Entry Level QA ****yst position with Consider This Marketing Co. through either Monster or Dice, I don’t remember which. I don’t blame either one they are as much a victim of these scams as the job seeker. After entering my initial information, name, address, etc. nothing that isn’t already available in the public sphere, I was sent through a number of screens containing advertising for colleges and other stuff. At that point the bells went off and I stopped and terminated the session. I received an SMS/MMS: (CAREERNETWORK) Hi (name), call me about the Entry Level QA ****yst job you have applied for  8778491206. (txt STOP to cancel). At the time I couldn’t call. I was about to call this morning and decided to look up CareerNetwork before I did anything. After reading the posts I responded with STOP. And got a message back: (PM): CellTrust: This message confirms that you have discontinued this Service. Questions contact 1-480-515-5200 or [email protected] .
