Leave a CommentCall received on my TRACPHONE (Cell Phone). Do not know this number in PA Area. Tried to call back on land line. Get Msg "No longer in service" or get busy signal.
Received this call. I do not know anyone in PA.
got call from this # today at 1:25 pm. no one there. if I don't get an immediate response after "HELLO" I **** up. Either a recording or scam and I don't need either one.
Got the call right after sending friend a text message. Showed as Pennsylvania call. Have friend in PA, but he would leave a message, as this call did NOT.
or is it one person or a whole company based of fraud?
Warranty services gim****....I hate these guys...If only i could get hold these ****ty people.....Submitted a complaint but they say that the number is recently listed.
how does this person get our numbers!!!???
This number called me at 2:46E when I answered who ever it wasnt there.
I also want to tell everybody that registering with dontcall does not work because they don't go by real phone numbers but computer generated ones such as 123-0001, 123-0002 and so forth. Eventually they'll hit you, unlisted, dontcall or not. (*ashamed to say I used to work for a telemarketer who did this so I know!)
I got this today, what a relief it's only a scam and not a bill collector. Thanks for the info.
just rec'd this call as well but did not answer nor did they leave a message.
The address listed in the phone book for this number is 144 Garrett Ave,Bryn Mawr, PA 19010I will be signing up for numerous free offers using this address and I suggest others with boring desk jobs spend their time similarly...=)
Don't call ANYMORE!!!!
It is annoying to get phone calls (4843803096) from unknown caller and never leave a message... I shall never answer them!
DJD,Thanks for the links. Have you registered with donotcall and are STILL getting these calls? I've told these****heads twice to remove me from their list, but it hasn't worked. This was the 6th call on my cell which really ****es me off. I think the company is warrantydirect - their website has no contact information (of course).
I got the call as well, I answered it but said nothing and for 2 minutes no one replied.
Read MSNBC article on this at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23147777/ Also file a complaint with the FTC at https://www.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
I keep getting these calls too about my warranty about to expire. I wish there was a way to block or stop these calls, but they are obviously scams. The last one I got was this morning July 5th 2008.
Same ole story - get calls from several different numbers and they keep saying this is your last chance at extending warranty for one of my vehicles. They don't know which vehicle! LOL. I've asked to be put on the do not call list and it never works. I'm getting frustrated and wondering how to eliminate these calls. I get them on my home number and my wife and I are now getting them on our cell phones. If anyone has any ideas on how to get this to stop, it would be greatly appreciated. Happy 4th weekend to everyone!
July 5,2008 at 9.26 amCall from 484-380-3096I called back and said it was not a working number.
My wife keeps getting calls from this number on her business phone - some scam claiming to offer 'renewed' warranty service on our car. Googling the number has brought up the same 'Katherine Fugazy' name as mentioned above. FWIW - "Fugazy" sounds like a BS name. It's a riff on the word 'fugazi' which as well as being the name of one of the best indie/punk bands of all time, originates from Mark Baker's book, Nam (a compilation of stories from Vietnam War veterans) - originally being an acronym for 'F***ed Up, Got Ambushed, Zipped In'
I received a call from them and I asked what kind of car I owned. Employee stated that it would be a huge "breach of security" if they told me, I laughed. Then I told them that this is a ****ing scam if they can't even tell me what ***nd car I own. He told me I don't need to curse at him and said he would take my name off the list. This is after I receieved the same call on my mother inlaws landline. Also receieved from 8027592575
just got called right now- no message left. Google shows the line as a private party in PA.. probably s****ed on the caller id info?
received call 14:53-EST. (07/03/08)no message.
Yet another call from this group. Last one was from number 215-579-1035 (Linda Wospil). Exact same gig, "Your warranty is about to expire. This is your last notice." (I could be so lucky... this is about my 10th "last notice".1) Which car is it on? "It's on a vehicle made between 1995 and 2007"2) Which would that be? I have seven? "Um... it's on your Ford."3) But I don't own a Ford. "You don't own a Ford? Okay, well I'll put you on our Do Not Call list."4) Where are you located? "Las Vegas"5) What is your company's name? "Warranty Services"6) Are you working from home or are you working in an office. "I'm in an office. We have all kinds of things here, like TVS, computers, I am using a head set and I have a keyboard. Why are you asking me so many questions?" (I replied, "I am trying to figure out which one of my seven vehicles you are talking about."7) What's the physical address of the building you are located in? "You are asking too many questions. Why don't you s**** giving me the year, make and model of your vehicles and then I might answer a few of your questions." (I replied that I was trying to figure out which of my vehicles has a warranty that is expiring since I don't have a Ford, asking which other Make or Model it could be... he repeated the "1995 to 2007" story.)8) Do you know Kathrine Fugazy? "Who?" Kathrin Fugazy, her name came up on my caller ID. "Oh, that might be the boss..." 9) Do you know Linda Wospil? (Her number came up as 215-579-1035, last time they called.) Her name came up the last time you guys called me. "She's probably one of the owner directors. I don't know the name of every person who works at the company. You're asking too many questions - like you're a cop or so****ing. I'm putting you on our Do Not Call list" 10) I asked if he was saying it would be a problem if I were in law enforcement and why he would put me on the Do Not Call list if he thought I was in law enforcement. The line went silent...
