Heard someone breathing but said nothing called back and it just rang

I missed a call from this number on June 8th at 9:30 am.  I returned the call minutes later only to get a recording saying the number had been disconnected. How can a disconnected number call me?

Got a call on Christmas Eve 2008 said important call press 1 if you are this person 2 if not. Tried to call back said number has been diconnected. Don't appreciate it when I am trying to spend time with my family during holidays
