GS Services called our business number with a recording asking for someone we never heard of. Therecording said if I hold the line and listen further I am thereby acknowledging that I am, or have info about, the said person they named. I ***g up and used last caller return to call them back and ask who they are and to take our number off their list.  I explained that our nr has been the same for over 20 years and we never had affiliation with the individual they were looking for. I said they should check their records and investigate their phone number sources before calling. The lady tried to say it was my responsibility to find out who this person is. I told them that is not our business model to track down people but since it is theirs they should themselves do research to find the specific person. They said they don't have time and lectured me for taking up their time. Of course they were the ones who originally wasted my time by calling with a recorded call. I have received a number of similar calls. I also told them they should call with a real person and not a recorded call. This way they could clean up their lists.  I suspect a 3rd party debt collector or perhaps "phone phishing." They would not say. Said it was private info, at the same time as wanting info from us.

This is a GC Services, Portland Oregon, number.  Based on my internet research, they're apparently a bill collection agency. My bills have always been paid, none are outstanding nor have they been for a very long time nor have they ever been a big issue.  If I'm truly the person they're sear****g for, they should have my address and could send an explanatory letter with a copy of the bill(s) that they claim are overdue.  I've not received any correspondence.  Based on this, I believe whatever claim they think they have isn't legitimate or important.
