Caller identified himself as a Deputy Marshal. He had my name and address. Stated he had jury summonses which were signed but that I hadn’t appeared for jury duty. He instructed me to meet him at the Sheriffs Office to provide handwriting sample. He stated that I would be arrested otherwise. I was able to confirm it was a scam through the local U.S. Marshal’s Field Office. When you went to the sheriffs office you wouldn’t be able to find the Dep. Marshal and then they would say you would be arrested or you could pay a fine to fix the problem.
