The company you are referring to in regards to the scam is not American Energy Savers. It was Energy Star Maintenance. They are the ones who were set up by the "homeowner" who was CSIA certified and knew that his chimney was fine. Whats funny is that the news talks about the guilds and what-have-you. That company was a part of that guild lol! You need only to pay your dues and you get membership. I am a CSIA tech. I know these things. There is not one successful business in this entire world that isn't about money, otherwise they perish. By selling repairs, we keep money coming in. Telemarketing is a very good way of generating work and new clients, rather than waiting for ppl to call in. People take advantage of it, and it ****s. THere are so many chimneys that do need work, there is no need to have to scam ppl. I am going into business for myself soon and hopefully I succeed. If you want to **** out scammers, no real chimney company will take the ladder off their truck for 50-60 bucks. 80-90 dollars, maybe. Usually a sweep goes for about a 100.00. They should ask you questions about the home, and you should be able to ask them questions likewise. Common sense is your best friend.

Same here in Wrentham 4 calls this week.  Just had WBZ on and they are reporting American Energy Savers as a scam.  Home had a clean chimney and they told owner that it needed major work.  Owner is a chimney cleaner and would know if it needed work.  Guys took off and left behind their very large ladder.

got a call from this number . Was wat****g WBZ  news about company who fit this description who are scamming people. 11 oclock feb 16

They have been calling for at least a week now. I finally answered around 1:00 p.m. and noone was there, line squelched then it went dead. Tried calling it back from another phone with blocked number and it says the call can't be completed.

Called and asked for us by our last name. When I asked how he got the number he said it was magic and ***g up on me. I tired to call the number right back would not go through.

Called twice and ***g up when we answered.

Receivewd two calls - 2/9 and 2/10 (so far). The first was a garble and then **** up and today was a recording of a song - I don't know name.

Received a couple calls from these guys - claim to be American Energy Savers. Each time they claim to be calling to schedule an appointment for chimney sweep/clean - the way they speak its as though it is a pre-arranged call i.e. they make it sound like it has all been agreed and they are just calling to fix the time.When I say I have never heard of them - the line just goes dead.I don't like this one bit - and I could easily see an elderly person getting ****ed in by their tactics.

Multiple calls - when I answer they **** up.I Called the number back, it says "The Google Phone customer you have called is not available, please leave a message...."   I did not leave a message.www.mobofinder.com says this number is a landline in Oxford, MA, the carrier is "Level 3 Comm, LLC-MA" whatever that means.

Two calls in two days. First one claimed to be from "chimney cleaning company" based in NY ("we're going to be in your area with $79 sweeping deal, blah blah"). Second call claimed to be from American Energy Savers.org with a similar deal. Referred to a number called ***-471-5755, which seems to be legit. Best case scenario... looks like a case of annoying phone solicitation.

Another click when answered.  Only picked it up because it said Swansea.

Caller asked to speak with someone who does not live here. When I asked her how she got my number, she claimed from directory****istance.

When I pick up, there is noone there. When I call back, I get a message saying that the "google voice subscriber" is currently unavailable and to leave a message. So I DID :D

I have Received about 5 called form ***-812-0*** with no answer on other end all diff time of the day i have call bck and lft mnsg on the line nasty one and that i would call the police

He called me today and all i heard we load ****s. Yeah also I looked it up and it says it is 2343Grand Army Hwy North Swansea, MA.

I have got this call every night now and no one would say anything when I picked up. But tonight when they called the guy said his name was Rodney then he said it was jimmy. I called the phone company they said this guys is making the calls over the internet and the only thing I can do is go to the police. So I went to the police and filled out report for them to look into this.

saw on caller id# 4 days in a row same time 9:45 a.m. the phone # (no msg).  tonight I answered phone and they ***g up and when I clld # it said google cust not available.  Aggravating!

Numerous phone ****-up calls from this GOOGLE subscriber for days. A real "Freak" no doubt!

ok, we've received 3 calls from this number with no message.  I'm wondering if this is a scam artist targeting the elderly b/c the phone is in my ***her's name, and we get tons of calls from hearing aid companies and such.  AND our number is on the "do not call' registry :-/

Got a few calls from this number with no message.  Finally was home when it called a***n and she said her name was Ruth from American Energy Savers out of Plymouth even though the caller i.d says Swansea, MA. She said she has already spoken to the Carver Police and they didn't have a problem with them.   Still seems a little fishy to me.

Said on ID, Swansea, MA.  Another website has reports of chimney company too.  I got a **** up and it sounds like they are casing houses so be careful.
