Confirmed IRS Tax Scammer. They will use an automated message to tell you there is an enforcement action a***nst you filed by the IRS, and they need your SSN & Bank Account Numbers for an audit and removal of the enforcement action. They add that ignoring this message COULD result in an arrest warrant. If you call the number back the answering party will be snotty, refuse to give a case number, and repeatedly claim that multiple notices have been sent out. Of course no notices have been given out because this is a SCAM. THE IRS DOES NOT USE THIRD-PARTIES TO COLLECT PERSONAL TAX DEBT. ANY NUMBER THEY CALL YOU FROM WILL BE LISTED AS BEING ISSUED TO THE "INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE" OR "UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY." ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS BY THE IRS ARE DONE VIA CERTIFIED MAIL AND YOUR EMPLOYER (OR ACCOUNTANT IF YOU'RE RETIRED) OR UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE WILL INFORM YOU BEFORE WAGE/SALARY GARNISHMENTS BEGIN.
