Just got a couple of calls from them. I didn't answer though. Too su****ious. Why are they doing this?

Got two unanswered calls from the Correctional Facility in 24hrs, did not answer them, called my phone company they said do not verbally accept it and you will not be charged.  (same as the other post the first one shows 5108545927 and the second call was from unknown, hope these posts helps someone else out there.)

probably not a scam (as I know someone who's there presently).However, the way collect call works, who cares....they want $25 to $50 to open a collect call account with them.  Aren't you supposed to be able to accept a collect call and have it billed through your carrier?  ***?

This is a correctional facility in California and they want you to accept a collect call.  I refused, I am sure it is some sort of scam.

This was supposed to be a collect call from some correctional facility, I didn't understand the name given, so I ***g up. The next day I got a call from a different number that came up unknown on caller id, and a message was left about whether I would like to continue to receive collect calls. I tied to look up the correctional facility by phone number and was unsuccessful, lead me to believe it may be a scam when I saw similar complaints about other phone numbers.
