This was a SPAM/SCAN/PHISHING CALL

Caller asked for primary user of computer, then told me his "system" was getting notifications of a virus on my computer. I told him "I'm not buying that" (meaning his story) -- he said he wasn't selling anything. Then I told him I was a former database administrator and wouldn't be giving him any information. Surprise, surprise -- he ***g up.

Got this call. After a bit, this guy s****s telling me I can save on my long distance bills ... I declined and ***g up

Recieved call today from this number.Person was fishing for phone service info.Claimed to be offerring a gift certificate from SEARS and long distance service. Person would not listen when told not interested finally I had to get VERY firm with them.

Same thing, calls a lot.  No one answers.  Shady.

I just got a phone call from the number too...  Any relation to 12123456789???  I didnt answer the phone either..

I would not answer it, didn't recongize the number.

just got a call now from this number, have also gotten it before, ***ody on the phone and it will only ring a couple of time. 512-345-6789

I got a call from this number today.  Answered but no one on the other line, and  then it disconnected after 15 seconds or so.  I checked my call long, and last week at about the same time I received a call from 712-345-6789.  Coincidence?  I think not.

There was no voice. Shouldn't that be illegal?

Just went to HBC's site to complain, the following message is posted there:"Important Notice to Hbc CustomersHbc asks all of its customers, particularly in British Columbia, to be aware of a telemarketing scam in which a company is contacting consumers and claiming that they have won a trip or other prizes through Zellers. As part of this unauthorized program the recipient is directed to send funds to the telemarketing firm in order to collect the prize.Zellers and HBC have no connection with these promotions and the use of our names has not been permitted.Hbc and Zellers DO NOT parti****te in these types of promotions, nor does the Ca***ian government require taxes or other fees to be paid on prizes.Hbc and Zellers are working with national authorities to stop this scam as quickly as possible."

LOL Jen-QC.  This number called while I was out.  I've also seen a 1-234-345-6789 last week on my call display.  I've had problems with HBC before and I thought I had that taken care of....cleary I don't.  They also called from    1-404-449-7586 2 hours later today.  I wonder which part of "talk to the ma****e, I ain't listening" they don't understand?  Maybe I should record my voice mail message in Hindi.

Got a call just from this number, clicked in after about****econds.  Guy said he was calling from HBC and trying to sell me so****ing. I asked him for his number to call him back and he ***g up. These callers on behalf of HBC are  RUDE. I've called HBC numerous times to be put on there do not call list and if I get one more call, I will cancel all dealings with HBC.

Got the same thing just now.  First time I've seen it.  512-345-6789.  Thinking it's either a telemarketer or one of those #'s that charge insane $$ once they connect.  So****ing's definitely fishy, with a phone number like that...

same thing, only this time I got an answer -- they asked for Mrs Walden (I'm not married so I knew it was a tele-solcitor and ***g up.

Didn't pick up, but caller did not leave a meassage.  Weird.
